Two months had passed since the night by the beach with Alex and it was now August. It's been a weird time. We hadn't talked about the night at the beach or what we said. There was always a tension between us, but it got easier each time. Alex had started dating a really pretty girl called Taylor and she was absolutely lovely. She was tall, blonde and always made everyone smile when she entered a room.
Tristan and I was in a good place, probably the best we'd ever been in. He was working a lot, but managed to make time for me during the nights. We were invited to a dinner at his parent's house and I was actually really looking forward to it.
During the months that had passed, I've basically just worked and hanged out with Luke and Amber. We'd always had the best time in the store, and it made it easier to handle my thoughts about Alex.
"He's definetely not wrong, C," Luke and Amber had said when I told them about the night at the beach. Both of them had never liked Tristan since they found out about how he was during sex. But he was my comforte zone and I did love him.
I've seen Miles a couple of times along with the rest of the guys. None of them, except Miles and Matt, knew what happened during the night at the beach. I just didn't want it to bother them. Miles told me a few days ago that Alex had told Matt about it. I didn't really know how to react. I mean, why did he feel the need to talk about me like that to anyone?
"Babe, you done?" Tristan yelled from the living room as I came out from the bathroom. He looked stressed and kept his eyes on the watch on the wall. "Why do you always have to make us late?!". I sighed a litle to myself as I tried to zip up my dress in the back.
"I'm sorry baby," I said. "But I can't reach the top, can you help me?". Tristan sighed and walked up to me. The smell of his cologne made me comfortabe as his fingers touched my back. He helped me with the dress and after, I turned around to give him a kiss on his lips. He smiled a little and pulled me closer to him.
"I love you," he said, making my knees feel weak. I reminded myself that this was the Tristan who I fell in love with those years ago. The dangerously good-looking guy with a bad reputation who made me feel like a woman. I smiled a little as he putted his hands on my waist, convincing myself that I loved him too.
"I love you more," I said, making him erase all the space between us. Tristan smiled again as he pulled away to face me. He gave me a warm smirk and pulled a strand of hair behind my ear.
"Don't wanna ruin your makeup," he said before he gave me one last kiss. I giggled a little as we made our way towards the door. I locked it and we then walked towards Tristans car.
After fourty minutes of driving, we pulled up on Tristan's parent's driveway. He turned off the car and after we'd got out of the car. He grabbed my hand and squeezed it tightly, making the butterflies in my stomach fly. Tristan rang on the doorbell and as if his mother stood right by it, she opened the door. Tristans parents was very classy and elegant. They always had money and they lived in a very luxorious home. His mother managed a little smile as she saw me and gave Tristan a hug.
"My little prince," she said as they pulled away to face each other. She placed one hand on his cheek and gave him one last smile before we walked indoors. As I took off my coat, I felt how Tristan's mother's eyes were glued on me. Tristan walked before us towards the living room, greeting his father, while his mother and I remained in the hall.
"That dress looks tight on you, dear," she said and I instantly regretted my choice of dress. "Are you counting your calories?". I felt so chocked that it took all my power to not drop my jaw.
"Uhm..I-," is all I got to say before Tristan stuck his head out from the living room.
"Are you coming?" he asked as I gave him a little smile in relief. I nodded and gave his mother a smile before I made my way towards the living room. As I entered the room, I saw Tristan with his father and his older siblings. Elena, who was five years older than Tristan didn't even seem to notice me, but James did. His smirk at me made me feel very uncomfortable so I walked up to Tristan.
"Hey baby," I said as I kissed him on the cheek. He just nodded short to me as an answer before he went back to the conversation he had with his father.
"Clara, Elena, help me in the kitchen," Tristan's mother said, making me and Elena follow her.
"So, what have you've been up to lately, Clara?" Tristan's father said with his mouth full of food. I swallowed the drink in my mouth as I placed the glass on the table.
"I've been working most, sir," I answered as I managed a smile. He didn't seem to care really. I felt how James eyes were burning on my neck as he sat across the table, smirking for himself.
"Where at?" Elena asked as she looked at me with a devilish smile. "Still at that old record store downtown?". I met hey eyes and nodded a little with a smile on my face.
"That's right," I said as Tristan's father turned his face towards me.
"How much do you get?" he asked, making Tristan look up to him, giving him a look that told him not to ask more questions about my income.
A few hours later, filled by an uncomfortable tension and boring hours, I stood outside, smoking a cigarette. I pulled up my phone from my jacket as I received a text from Alex.
Alex:
We're throwing a party at Matt's tonight, wanna come? It won't be the same without yaI smiled to myself.
Me:
Yeah course, when about?Alex:
An hour or so, where are ya?Me:
At Tristan's parent'sAlex:
I'll be there in 30As I smiled to myself like a fool, I walked in again, telling Tristan that I would be leaving. He didn't seem to listen or care that much since he just shrugged and continued talking business with his brother.
"Such a bummer ya leaving," James said as I put on my jacket again. I managed an uncomfortable smile as he viewed me up and down. "The fun is soon about to start". I looked at him quickly before I heard Alex's car on the driveway.
"Well, I'm guessing I'll have to miss that this time," I said before I walked out of the house. As soon as I saw Alex, a smile played on my lips. I opened the door and got into his Cadillac. He was wearing his black aviatior-glasses and a white shirt. His hair was gelled back a little and his mouth opened as he saw me.
"Wow, ya look-," he said, making me red. "Ya look beautiful". I giggled a little before I pinched his arm.
"Stop it," I said as he started the car. He just smiled at me and shook his head.
"I'm serious tho," he said as he drove down the street. I just shook my head, instantly feeling comfortable in his nearness.
