I'm back guys! so there are a few things going on. Just because I love you guys, I'm going to post the authors note at the end.
(Larrence)
The smell of water was numbing. The second I woke up, I heard the distant sound of rushing water, the smell was just overwhelming. I rubbed my eyes with the back of my hand, focusing my eyes to the darkness. A soft dark blue like glow shone through to me like a pair of eyes through the darkness. It took me a few minutes to realise it was Connie. His red feathers on his tail seem to give off a red shine, looking like fire.
His wings stretched out, quitly flapping them and landing on my shoulder. Looking back, I saw the limp figure of Zavier softly snoring in his corner. He took a deep breath, and I held mine in fear that he would wake. Seconds passed by, feeling like an eternity, then he relaxed. I turned to Connie.
"Get me my guard." I whispered into Connie's feathers. In response, he flew off to a corner of the room were he came back, struggling to hold up the guard. Once he was in arms reach, I snatched the guard, strapping it to my shoulder. It was a little bit tattered but it was fixable. Connie flew back with the collar in his talons, handing it to me. They must've taken it off while I was unconscious. Buckling the collar into place, I sat up, flexing my body. Though I have my body numbed, it is still possible that I hit a spot that wasn't really numbed, which would cause a downfall in my health, so I let the ice like numbness to travel through my body.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Connie whispered, perching on my shoulder.
"My Phoenix wants some air." I shuffled across the black carpeted room, opening up part of the window. Connie ruffled his feathers excitedly, flying out freely into the moonlit night.
Taking a deep breath, I readied myself to launch out of the second story hight, thinking how I would shift without any trouble with me being spotted. The side of the house that I was currently hanging out of only had a few windows, none of them being around my window.
The forest below stretched out across as far as I could see, so maybe finding a clearing with a river by it was going to be easy.
Finally calculating my flight, I looked over to Connie who was glaring impatiently at me.
"Finished spacing out?" He huffed, the feathers on his head flared out angrily.
I grinned, jumping out into the cold fall air without warning, shifting into my full Phoenix and spreading out my wings, holding them out in silent flight.
Gentle flaps had kept me up in the sky, gliding through the dark night. Connie would fall behind, so I had to slow down for him. Gliding just above the forest, I searched for an opening with a river near by, remembering the smell of water nearby. The sound of water grew louder, making me realize how thirsty I must be. Connie tucked his wings in, flaring his tail like a stream of fire. He dived downwards into the sea of trees. I copied his moves, tucking in my wings, and diving down while I shrunk to Connie's size. Diving beneath the leaves, a branch hit my head, ruining my flight pattern.
My wings flapped faster and more furiously trying to keep me up. At the last minute, I turned around so I was facing the water below.
Hitting something soft, I opened my eyes to see Connie curiously flying above me.
Using my wing to hold myself up, I saw the snow I was on and the water had turned to ice.
"You're so small..." Connie landed on a tuft of snow, then laughed at my minute size.
"Do you want me to become bigger again?" I transformed into my human form, not really waiting for an answer. My body was wrapped in a black jerkin, the shoulder gaurd shifting into a more suitable size and shape so now it had two layers of leather over my arm like a sleeve. Gray jeans had also morphed with me. For some reason, I shift with these clothes on, even if I take them off, but after shifting again and I don't need them, they disappear and be there when I need them. It's complicated actually, especially when they shift when I need them.
Connie sighed. "I was enjoying being tall. No, what are you doing? Shrink!"
"Why don't you shift then?" He perched on my shoulder with slight anger in being the tiny feather ball again."I don't feel like shifting. Plus, I'd be naked if I do. Remember I don't have the perk to shift with clothes on like you do." I nodded and turned to face the lake.
"I'm going to practice some of my magic, so why don't you go and fly around, stretch out your wings?"
His cheeks puff out and he reluctantly flies off into the trees.
I pulled my hands infront of me.
"White snow, clear hail, a tiny storm," Snow fell into my cupped hands, followed by a clear pieces of rock, no bigger than the hole of a pony bead. A tiny puffed out marshmallow looking thing formed above my hands, tiny flakes of snow forming in the space between my hands and the cloud.
Using earth and sun magic at the right angle and time, I created a domed glass spere around the small storm, using rock and ice magic to form a platform below my hands. Removing them, the platform took my place and fit itself snuggly into the glass, creating a snowglobe, but you don't have to shake it.
Life magic leaked through my hands, and I placed them on the floating globe. My thoughts went to my brother Alec, and the dome was surrounded in an orange glow. Now this globe would project Alec's feelings. It currently showed the snow softly falling, that meant that he was calm, but since it was late, he was more than likely sleeping. I put the globe away in my second demension, along with my friends and family's globes, near my weapons.
Now that I had more friends, I guess I should make one for them...
(Third persons perspective)
Lex continued to make globes, Alpha Black was getting up from his sleep for a midnight snack.
(Alpha Black)
Of all times to get hungry, why now?!
A small growl escaped my lips and continued to head down the hall towards the kitchen.
I don't know what compelled me to walk down a certain hallway that I recognized as a guest hall. Why did I want to visit her? Rain... I wonder if she has settled in.
I walked up to the dark wooden barrier, slowly lifting my hand to it. What if she still hasn't healed? What that means is that she would have to stay longer until she can fend for herself.
I hesitated, gently knocking on the door. There wasn't any response, so she must be sleeping. Maybe if I peek in, there won't be any conflict...
I turned the brass door knob and pushing the door just wide enough to fit my head. A slumped figure was on the couch, and by the smell, I determined that it was Zavier.
So where is Rain?
The gray sheets of the bed were carefuly thrown over the side, leaving enough space for a human to fit in the empty sheets. The bird stand was empty, all signs of Rain was gone, except for the satchel she has been carrying.
I would take a peek but that would be invading her privacy.
The window was open and cool breezes of wind poured in from the outside, makimg the curtains sway in the gentle breeze.
Just where was Rain?
