~Serenity's point of view~

Sunday was a little different. I still did my normal stuff, but Bridget joined me. We spent the day together and had a blast. Monday was the first day of Mr. Chamber's taking over; He stayed in the office the entire day. He only called me up once. When I got up there, he eyed me up and down and then said, never mind.

It's Tuesday. I've been here two hours; He comes off the elevator. He smiles as soon as he sees me.

Serenity: "Do you need something, Trevin?"

Trevin: "Yes."

Serenity: "What?"

Trevin: "Betty has been slacking. Your dad said I could move people around. You and Betty are switching spots."

Betty was my dad's personal assistant. She's older; She was slacking.

Serenity: "Ok."

Trevin: "She feels she can handle your job easier."

Serenity: "When do you want us to swap?"

My mind immediately goes to Friday. That was an incredible swap. This one, not so much.

Trevin: "What just went through your mind, Serenity?"

Serenity: "Nothing."

Trevin: "Liar."

I act offended.

Trevin: "Don't act offended, Sweetheart. That blush on your face says something different. You're young; it's ok to have naughty thoughts. Especially if you're thinking about me."

I roll my eyes. I was NOT thinking about him.

I was thinking about the stuff that happened Friday night. He is not involved in that.

Serenity: "For your information, I was not thinking about you."

Trevin: "Do you have a boyfriend now?"

Serenity: "No."

Trevin: "Girlfriend?"

Serenity: "We haven't defined it as of yet."

Trevin: "Ah, I see. You bat for the other team."

Serenity: "I play on both sides of the field."

Shit. I bite my lip.

Trevin: "It's ok, Sweetheart. Dasher will never find out. Your secret is safe with me."

The elevator opens, and Betty steps out.

Serenity: "You seriously meant now?"

Trevin: "Sure did."

Serenity: "Help me grab my stuff then."

Trevin: "I'm the boss, remember?"

Serenity: "Right now, you're going to be useful."

I don't have much. I just have some things that I refuse to work without. I hand him my calendar, my stapler, my mouse, and my mouse pad. I grab everything else, including the picture of my mother.
