Riven sat down on his bed as the room got terribly quiet. Adelina didn't know what to say to him. Riven took a deep breath as he stared forward making sure he wasn't look at Adelina. "It's funny... the things that go through our minds when we think we are going to die." Riven whispers softly. Adelina looked over at him unsure of what he was even saying. "I've never been scared to die before.... never...." Riven tells her truthfully. Adelina quietly sits down next to him on the bed as she continues to listen to him. "When the burned one first got you.... I was angry with myself for letting you get hurt.... I wanted to protect you no matter what.. I thought that just meant I liked you but I've grown to realize that I'm afraid to live without you.........." Riven explains in a soft tone.
Adelina felt her heart quicken as she looked over at him. He finally looked over at her causing their eyes to meet. "You piss me off more than anyone I've ever known... but you also make me smile.... and uhh..... when the burned one got me..... the only thing that came to my mind was you.... and in that moment I realized ...." He nervously tells her. He stops talking as he tries to say what he wants to say. "I wasn't supposed to fall for you Adi..... I'm supposed to be alone because all I can ever do is hurt people...but in that moment I realized I love you....shit I love you and it scares me but I can't help it.... but I can't be who you want me to be... I can't be the perfect guy you deserve." Riven tells her softly. Their eyes remained locked on one another as Adelinas chest hurt. "You already are the guy I deserve...." Adelina whispered back. Rivens eyes flickered with pain as he stared at the beautiful girl in front of him. He didn't want to hurt her. A part of him was screaming at him that he wasn't good enough for her but he simply pushed it aside. He slowly placed his hand on her cheek as his eyes flickered to her lips. He started to lean in as he closed his eyes. Adelina closed her eyes as her lips met his. Adelina didn't pull away this time as she immediately kissed him back. At first the kiss was soft but then it was filled with more passion and neither one of them wanted to pull apart.
They both finally pulled apart breathlessly as they stared at one another. Rivens eyes landed on a scar on her chest. He gently ran his fingers over it causing Adelina to flinch at his touch. "You're beautiful." He whispered as he smiled at her. "I'm a mess is what I am... still can't control my powers." Adelina mutters nervously. Riven opened his mouth to respond but he felt extremely dizzy out of no where. He looked around the room as everything was spinning. "Riven?" Adelina whispers softly. He didn't respond as his body collapsed onto the bed. "Riven!" Adelina screamed as she looked down at the unconscious boy. She shook his body hoping to get a reaction from him but he didn't move. Tears fell down her face as she immediately picked up her phone and called the headmistress. Adelina grabbed Rivens lifeless hand as the headmistress and Professor Harvey rushed into the room. Adelina felt like she couldn't breathe as Professor Harvey screamed at her asking her what happened. "I... one minute he was fine and the next thing I know he just passed out." Adelina explained as tears flooded down her face.
