Three Years Ago
"They need your help."
Groaning you rolled your eyes. "You know I don't do that anymore." You shook your head, as you continued reaching in the pastry display.
Gliding towards the cash register you began packing up the small pastry order as you rang up the total. Revealing the total to the customer, you awaited them to get their payment ready.
"That doesn't mean you can't get back into it."
Whirling around, you crossed your arms along your chest. "Bobby, you know that's not how it works." You groaned. "Nobody has left hunting only to re-enter later on." You shrugged. "That's just not how it works."
"Just because you haven't heard of anyone doing it, doesn't mean it hasn't happened." He tried his shoulders sagging slightly.
Rolling your eyes, you turned back around returning to your previous purchase. Once they were done, you flagged down one of your workers to resume business. Making your way towards one of the empty tables in your bakery, you awaited Bobby to join.
"The boys need you." He sighed occupying the chair in front of you.
Snorting you leaned back in your chair. "So you've said."
Resting his elbow on the table he reached towards the bridge of his nose pinching it, while his eyes fell closed.
"Kid.."
Sighing, you leaned forward. "Does it really matter that much if I join them?"
"Actually it does." He huffed, removing his elbow from the table, mirroring your stance. "It means three of the best hunters will be working together. You'll be protected."
You glared at him in response.
"They need all the help they can get, do this one favor for me, Y/N."
Jolting upright, your chest rose and fell at a rapid pace. A thin layer of cold sweat coating the back of your neck along with the plains of your arms. Resting your elbows on your knees, you lifted your hands up allowing you to rub along your cheeks.
