Daisy stared at me for a few seconds.
"Then why am I here?" she nearly screamed.
"What was I supposed to do? Watch you die?"
"I don't know, take me to Simmons!"
I raised by eyebrows.
"But... I'm feeling better" she continued, whilst looking at her drip.
"You sure? You just got surgery, you should rest!" I told her.
"Yeah but I can rest at home or at Simmons'! I mean, why don't we just get... anywhere else!"
"Well, and how do we get out of here?" I laughed.
"Lincoln. I'm not joking, I'm just trying really hard to..."
"They won't let you out until they find what you've got!" I said angry and put my hands in my hair. "I'll call Fitzsimmons".
After saying that I went immediately outside the hospital to make the call. I was feeling wrathful and didn't even know why, it was my fault. I was mad at myself. I didn't know how that call could have been helpful in that situation but I made it anyway.

"Agent Jemma Simmons, who's speaking?"
"Hey Jemma, emh... it's Lincoln..."
"Oh dear, hi!" she nearly screamed. "How have you been? How's Daisy?"
"Actually, I'm really not in the mood of taking about that, I..."
"What happened?" she stopped him.
Lincoln heaved a deep breath "I need your help. Yours and Fitz's". For a few seconds no one said a thing. "I need you to come here, I'm at the hospital for... Daisy, yeah, and I have a big problem, Jemma. Things have always turned out all right for us since we left Shield, we kept our secret, as you asked, as Shield askes. And we did it very well... maybe this call is pointless, but I don't know what to do, Jemma." This was beginning to be a serious and difficult speech. "I don't know how to behave, how to..." I didn't know what to say.
"We can take a week off whenever we want, me and Fitz. We were planning on going somewhere but I feel like this is more important. I got the problem, there will be complications because of the Inhuman's marker and you're really worried." I could feel she was beginning to cry. "Send me your GPS, I'll ask Fitz if for him it's ok to leave for... I don't know maybe also now, in a couple of hours." she concluded frantically.
"I really don't know how to thank you. But I need you to promise one thing. Just act like nothing big is happening, I don't want to scare Daisy, she just had an operation and luckily now she's woken up, I don't know when the other symptoms are going to show up." I explained very carefully all of what had happened.

"Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, New Jersey" she said in an interesting way.
"Cool" he replied.
Fitsimmons left their luggage in the car. I didn't want her to know that they were going to be there for all that time. I was planning on let them sleep in our house and they accepted it. Actually, we had no idea of how long it was going to be, but they couldn't stay for more than a few days.
I saw tears of joy flowing down Daisy's smile as we reached her room. Seeing your best friend after a long time must be wonderful. Having a sister always there for you, to always rely on. Even in that situation it can draw a smile. For the first hour we just talked, over and over, like we had forgotten why they were there. We told all the beautiful and sometimes awkward stories of when were all still in the field, of the new agents and just gossip, like teenagers. We had a good time. After everything we had been through I was beginning to wind down. Until Daisy stopped talking and a loud sound deafened us, from the monitor. All in a sudden I became desperate and hopeless, I felt like I couldn't move, as I was petrified. Fitz called the nurses, Jemma stared at me with tears in her eyes.
In that moment arrived a doctor I hadn't met before. He was perplexed by Daisy's situation. After the nurses took her somewhere, he asked me to come in his office. We all went there, also Fitz and Jemma.
"Good morning, my name is James Wilson, I'm an oncologist. The hospital administrator delegated this case to me. I need to make several tests on the patients and I need the authorization of the closest family member".
I told him that I would have liked to talk with Fitz and Simmons about that privately and so we went out of the room. We needed to discuss about the fact that they couldn't come up with anything and that those tests would have been pointless and lead to a wrong diagnosis and as a consequence a wrong treatment.
"We need to tell them." Jemma said as we left the room.
"What? We protected the secret for centuries and now you're telling me to reveal it? That makes no sense!"
"What are we supposed to do? Can you think of any other option?" she replied quite angry.
I didn't know what to say. All I did was start to cry. Jemma hugged me and told me that everything was going to be all right, even if she wasn't sure about that.
After half an hour and some calls from the doctor we decided to finally reveal the secret to the oncologist. We were expecting some weird reaction, but he just stared puzzled. I think he was starting to believe that it was a dream, but then we showed him some blood examples and told him everything we knew about how Inhumans react and all that stuff. We ended up having to explain everything to House and his crew, and that was hard. Even with evidences and proofs he still tried to search for a disease that created that type of reaction but he gave up in the end. They swore that they would never told anyone about the secret. Actually, to be completely sure we made a sort of threat, which was fake but effective.
"You know the Avengers, right? Well, if you know them you should have heard about Thor and the Asgardians. One of them, whose name is Lady Sif, would punish all of you, in a bad way, trust me, if you just mention this secret. If you are wondering how she can know what you say, well... they are Asgardians" Jemma said in her British intense way. It was so realistic, even if Fitz was beginning to laugh, but faked it as cough.
