Troye’s pov

I was one of the first people out the door once the bell rang, all of my materials already having been shoved into my back despite my teacher’s protests. There’d been about twenty more seconds of class and she’d been yelling at us not to pack up, but I’d done so anyway. It’s easier to get away with things in this class because I sit in the back, and also because I won't care very much if I get in trouble. All day I’d been itching to get to lunch so I could talk to everyone about what’s been going on between Tyler and I.

I hadn’t had a chance to talk to them this morning as I’d been running late. I’d slept right through each of my seven alarms, eventually being woken up by Sage who was beyond annoyed at the blaring of my phone. Of course I’d wondered why she hadn’t woken me up when one of the first six of them had gone off, although I hadn’t questioned her motives. It was still my fault after all. I’d then hurried to take a shower even though I'd known I didn’t have time. I'd also known that my being late was going to make Tyler late, but I wasn’t too worried about him being mad. He’d made me late for school before, so I was sure that this wasn’t going to be too big of a deal. Of course I hadn’t expected to be interrupted while I was showering either.

“Troye!” An unmistakable voice had shouted. Now I wasn’t the kind of person that was super shy about my body, although it was still incredibly nerve wracking to be naked in front of someone whether you were insecure or not. The thing about my shower is that it’s not a traditional one. There wasn’t a big, opaque curtain covering the bath and the person inside of it. Instead there was a sliding glass door that had only managed to get a little bit foggy with my short amount of time I'd been in the shower. Luckily I like to burn the skin right off of my body when I shower, because otherwise the glass wouldn’t have been foggy at all.

“Tyler!” I’d screeched, hands covered in shampoo shooting down to hover over my waist area. Sure it was foggy, but you could still see through the glass. Like how I could see Tyler standing on the other side, with eyes that seemed a bit too wander-y for my taste.

“My eyes are up here,” I’d snapped, although I didn’t remove a hand to show him where. Hopefully he was already aware of the anatomy of the body.

“I’m sorry where?” Tyler had said jokingly, “You should point to them, with one or preferably two of you hands,” he said, and I think he winked. If Tyler were any other person I already would’ve shouted at him and perhaps reached past him to grab my towel. But since he wasn’t any one else, I don’t think I’d want to reach past him. Who knows where he’d look?

“I’m almost done, get out,” I’d said, and Tyler had left, shouting a warning to hurry up after him.

After I’d showered I’d rushed to get dressed and raced down the stairs, my wet hair flopping into my eyes. I’d snatched an apple of the counter and turned to race out the door to Tyler’s car, before turning around and grabbing a second one incase Tyler was hungry too. I hadn’t thought that we were going to be incredibly late, as we could probably make it to school before first period was even halfway over, but that was before we’d hit traffic.

I’d groaned loudly as we hit a standstill, knowing that we were definitely going to miss the entire first period, and possibly some of the second too. I knew that Tyler had to take a test today, so i was praying that this little detour wouldn't take too long. We’d slowly inched forward for about a half hour, easing an incredibly short amount of distance over an incredibly long amount of time. I’d named all the cars around us for the sake of it (George, Stewart, Leo, and Belinda) and also because my phone was already about to die. Not only had I let my alarms go off for over an hour, I’d also forgotten to plug it in last night, so it was crawling closer to its death with every passing second. Thankfully I'd brought Tyler and I apples though, because it turned out that the traffic provided a perfect opportunity to eat them.
