Hello readers of my story. I just took a two hour nap. This entire chapter will be written on two hour nap fuel. If its lame you can blame my nap, if it’s amazing you can thank ME.

Tyler’s pov

I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, restless. I’d slept fine the first half of the night, but then three AM rolled around and I woke up as if there’d been an alarm. No matter what I did my mind refused to fall back asleep, instead rushing from thought to thought at hyper speed, which didn’t help to keep my body tired. As time went on I became more and more awake, which led to how I felt now. I was now more awake than I usually felt in the mornings, and I felt ready to jump out of bed and get stuff done. There was also the fact that I didn’t actually feel like doing anything, so instead I laid here with my eyes wide open, staring at the ceiling, and waiting for the morning.

I would normally be waking up for school in about three hours, but today it seemed that I would have to start my day earlier than usual. I didn’t know what to do, or how to get back to sleep, and starting the day early seemed like the only option left to me. Luckily it was Thursday, so the week was nearly over. I didn’t think that this random altercation in my sleep schedule would mess up my day too badly, so I was honestly debating just letting what wanted to happen happen.

I sighed loudly, rolling over temperamentally. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to get up and take a shower, get on with my day, or remain here for the next few hours. I huffed, standing up and inching my way towards the bathroom, when my phone rang out with a sudden, obnoxious ding. It was silent after that, and I frowned in confusion, wondering how I always managed to leave the sound of my phone on at night.

I turned back towards my bed after that, crawling across the crumpled covers to reach for my phone. My fingers scrabbled against the windowsill, where my phone was sitting, until they latched on the rectangular object, pulling it towards myself. I sat on my bed as I unlocked my phone, staring at in incredulously when I saw I had a text from Troye. What was he doing up so early in the morning?

From: Troye.

‘Hey I know you’re not awake, but I can’t sleep. Wish you were here!’

I rolled my eyes at his manipulative nature. He knew that I often forgot to turn my sound down, and that my ring tone was one, loud ding. I didn’t doubt that Troye had texted me in the hopes of waking me up, which would’ve worked if I’d been asleep. I couldn’t imagine how angry I would’ve been if that had woken me up after lying here awake for hours. Then again, it was Troye, so how angry could I really be?

To: Troye.

‘Me neither, hold on.’

I hopped of the bed, this time ignoring the ding that sounded from my phone in response. I hurriedly pulled on sweatpants and a shirt, shrugging on a jacket on top of that. I glanced around the room, looking for items that I might need for the day. I snatched my phone from the bed, jogging to the door before opening it silently, remembering that my mom was home. She probably wouldn’t be too mad about me going out in the middle of the night, but I’d rather not risk the encounter with her. I feared that she’d send me back to bed, telling me to try harder and fall asleep instead of going out and living my day early.

I crept through the hall and down the stairs, tiptoeing around the stair that creaks. I skulked into the kitchen, grabbing a bagel and slipping it into the toaster. Across the kitchen I grabbed two water bottles and a jar of Nutella. As the bagel popped out of the toaster (myself cringing because the sound was louder than I’d expected) I slid it onto a napkin before smearing a hefty amount of Nutella on each side, before reassembling it and storing it inside a plastic bag. I then put the food and drinks in a small paper bag, before heading towards the front door. Equipped with food, my phone, and my car keys, I left through the front door for “school”.
