Chpater 5 - Intruders

Alex snapped around to face the backdoor of her parents house, she could already hear the footsteps from her mother coming closer to the door.

"I'll do what I can." Alex quickly ran across the ruined garden, not waiting for a response from  the bots. The redhead quickly climbed up onto the porch and reached the door, just as her mother's figure could be seen coming around the corner.

"Mojo-Alex?" Judy blinked with surprise at her daughter, who was standing outside her backdoor.

"Uh hey Mom." Alex greeted nervously as she rubbed the back of her neck, making sure to stand in the middle of the door.

"What are you doing out here so late? Get in. Get in." Judy ushered her eldest child, quickly opening the door and welcoming her daughter in.

"I heard about the asteroids and wanted to check up on you guys." Alex came up with on the spot as she picked up the small canine that was constantly sniffing at her ankles.

"Oh...Look at you being all sweet and caring." Judy awed as she squished her precious daughter's cheek, absolutely adoring the way her daughter quickly came to see how her folks were doing.

'Oh my god that worked.' Alex was relieved her mother bought her bluff, but now she had to deal with an overly excited mother, who took any chance to coddle their child.

"Are you, Dad and Sam ok?" Alex asked as she gently pulled her face out of her mother's affectionate grasp.

"Yes, we're fine. Just a little shocked." Judy waved off her daughter's concern as she walked back into the living room, where her husband was. "Sam almost broke his curfew." she exposed as she looked over at her daughter with an exhausted expression, clearly she had fretted her old lady heart out.

Ron looked up at his wife's voice, only to blanch with surprise when he saw his daughter standing there.

"What did your brother drag you into this time?" Ron quickly assumed as he gave an unimpressed look.

'An intergalactic war between giant robotic aliens.'

"What?" Alex quirked a brow as she put the dog down, putting her hands in her pants pockets.

"You heard me."

"Oh Ron. Stop it." Judy stepped in, rolling her eyes at her husband's words. "She was worried about us after the asteroids so she came to check on us." she explained as she sat down on the sofa.

"I'm gonna go check on Sam." Alex came up with quickly as she looked over at the stairs. "I didn't get the chance to talk to him about last night so I'll go do that." she smiled before walking over to the stairs.

"Make sure to teach him a lesson on doing chores." Ron huffed, earning a roll of green eyes.

"Sure." with that, Alex quickly climbed up the stairs. Once she reached Sam's room, she knocked on the door after finding out the door was locked. "Sam it's me, open up." Alex whispered quickly as she leaned against the door, eyes flickering between in and the hallway behind her.

"Alex? What are you doing in the house?" Sam asked as he quickly opened the door, letting his sister in before locking it behind her.

"Mojo was barking at the door, and Mom went to check so I had to think fast." the redhead summarised as she looked around the room, smiling lightly when she saw Mikaela. The blackette turned to the window, before looking back at the two siblings.

"Guys, guys. He's back." she whispered over to the two, motioning over to the window.

"Great." Sam grumbled before he ran to the window.
