Its been three days since my parents passed away from a kidnapping by two young men. My sister and I have been living with our aunt, Christina, since the incident happened. We moved in today unpacking all our memories we shared together as a family. As I was unpacking, I saw someone against a blue mustang looking at me through my window. I got a little spooked out and quickly closed the curtains. "Ally, darling, you almost done?" My aunt Christina asked as I quickly went back to unpacking. "Almost aunt Christy." I replied looking straight at her. "Okay, lunch will be served in an hour, but take all the time you want. No rush." She said sounding as if she was going to cry. "Okay." I said not wanting to ask her what's wrong. As she left, I had finished unpacking and was ready to start a new life... without any parents, except a guardian.
I walked to the kitchen with my sister and saw my aunt crying into the sink. I didn't bother telling her I was going to look around the town with Abby; instead, we just left. We walked around looking at the houses and cars the socs had, but once we got to the greasers side, we began admiring how their houses looked like and the way they dressed. "Ally, is it just me or do you see that cute boy with the jean jacket walking by?" Abby said with a dreamy tone in her voice. "Yeah, go talk to him." I said wanting her to make a friend who looked to be about her age. "Okay I will." She said and walked towards him with a smile on her face. This should be interesting.
I saw from a distance how she and the boy talked for a while until two other boys came up to them. I didn't like the look of the tall one, so I went towards them and asked, "What's going on here?" "Nothing we just told this soc to go back to her territory." The tall one said. "Okay first of all, we're nothing like socs, and second, we are not leaving and you can't make us." I replied walking just a little closer to him, just to get him scared. "Ally lets just go." Abby said not wanting to cause trouble. "Fine, lets go. Who would want to be around you anyways." I said towards the tall one and left with Abby.
I knew better than to start a fight around my sister, especially after the kidnapping-death thing. I didn't want her to experience that, not ever. She has been through a lot and the last thing I want to do is get her more into it.
Once we were done with the whole walking around thing, Abby started getting hungry so we stopped by a nearby store and saw two boys around my age working. After Abby chose some gummy bears, I paid for them and told the nice cashier "thank you" and left back to the place we now call home.
