Shade 9: Helpless.
Arthur rose from his throne tossing a look of disgust at the two figures still stood in the door frame.
One of them stepped forward from the shadows; her long blond locks, going far past her shoulders, had been scooped back into a ponytail. She was wrapped tightly in layers of armour and padding and held a sword (covered in Hiddles's blood) in her right hand.
"Lady Reevena!" Arthur exclaimed.
Gwaine looked around helplessly at Leon and Percival. None of them had brought their weapons.
Reevena smirked before looking towards the other silhouette stood in the doorway. Mordred stepped forward.
Arthur looked toward his wife who cowered in the corner.
"Go!" He screamed.
Gwen ran from the room, bumping into Merlin on the way; they both managed to escape without being seen; But, it wasn't them that Mordred wanted.
Mordred began to walk up to Arthur, developing a bit of a strut. Percival tensed, getting ready to throw one of his enormous fists at Mordred's face. Before any of the knights could react (and try to beat the shit out of Mordred), Reevena stretched her fingers before raising her arms above her head; she began chanting in a strange language at the ceiling.
The floor began to vibrate as the ceiling started to rumble. A mountain of rocks and boulders crashed through the walls burrying everyone in the room, apart from Reveena,Mordred and Arthur.
Reveena stumbled over the patches of pebbles on the floor to join Mordred at his side.
"Come on then..." Arthur sighed "Where is she?"
Mordred and Reveena both looked at Arthur like he was speaking a different language
"Morgana" He continued
"Oh! Morgana" Mordred snorted "She's long gone... couldn't risk her taking my throne could I?"
Reveena giggled at Arthur's perplexed expression "She's dead Arthur" she explained
"What! Wait... Your throne?" Arthur questioned
Mordred flashed Arthur a Devilish smile "Yes. Well... when your gone, Camelot will be mine"
"And what makes you think I'm going anywhere?"
"My sword..."
There was a violent 'SQUELCH' as Mordred drew his sword through Arthur's gut. The king crashed to the floor, knocking the crown from his head. He lay there lifeless, eyes staring blankly at his killer.
Reveena looked up from the body and stared intensely at Mordred "I'm so hot for you right now..."
*****
Percival and Leon lay unconscious under the pile of stone; At the other side of the hall, Gwaine and Kaley had found themselves conscious but, trapped under a dome of boulders.
Gwaine tried to push the wall of rock, making a rather attractive face as he did so. After 10 minutes he gave up in the realisation that he had a druid with him, they could use magic to get out. He turned to look at Kaley who trembled in the corner.
"No" She said, not giving Gwaine chance to speak; she had already anticipated what he was going to ask.
Gwaine sighed and slumped down into the pile of rubble, resting his head in his hands.
"Gwaine" Kaley whispered "I'm scared" Her eyes beginning to water.
Gwaine crawled over to her with open arms "Come here".
