Chapter 2
When the bell finally rings for school to be out, I’m relieved. It was such a long day. Zach Woods is so dumb that this morning I practically dismissed him from the table because he wouldn’t concentrate and shut up. As I step into the parking lot, I head to my car only to see Tessa standing by it with Derrick.
“Do you mind?” I point at my car door. Tessa looks at me with a blank face, “You’re in my way.” I tell her and then she realizes she’s blocking my car door.
“Sorry.” She groans. “Did you forget about our plans today? We were totally supposed to go to the movies!”
“We were?” I say trying to remember these plans. “Oh, yeah we were.”
Tessa looks at me and turns to derrick, hugs him and says “You can go now.” Then she turns back to me with her pouty face and says, “What’s up with you forgetting our plans? We made these about a week ago!”
“I’m sorry, Tess. I’ve just been thinking about troy today and it slipped my mind. We can still go, get in.” Tessa gets in the car and turns the radio on 95.1, of course 5 seconds of summer is playing. I couldn’t help myself but to sing along, “she said to me forget what you thought, good girls are bad girls that haven’t been caught.”
As were approaching the movies, I turn off the radio and tell Tessa to look up the Showtime’s. She turns to me with a grin on her face, “Fifty Shades of Grey is showing in 20 minutes, want to go see that?” Obviously Tessa would want to see that. “No thanks. I’d like to keep my eyes virgin if you don’t mind.” She rolls her eyes, “You’re such a lame Lilly; remind me again why I’m friends with you?” “Because you love me Tess, that’s why. And I keep you out of trouble." I smile at her. She smiles, “Yeah, yeah. So the boy next door is showing in about 10 minutes. I heard it has a really hot actor in it, let’s see that!” she gets out the car and shuts the door. I get out too. I did hear the dude was hot, why not?
The line for the movie tickets are long so I demand we go to the kiosk. I am not waiting in that long line. “Wait, Lilly. I don’t have my card on me.”
“Its fine, Tess. It’s on you next time though.” I buy the tickets and we head into the theatre, only to see the massive line at the concession counter. Tessa looks at me, “You know I need my coke and popcorn.”
“Fine, I’ll wait with you Tess. You’re buying me my drink though” she looks at me, and starts to speak when she points behind us and I glance. Zach Woods is here. Great. I already have to deal with him as a partner, now he’s here too? Could this get any worse? I just hope he doesn’t notice me.Tessa and I turn around as if we never knew he was here and continued moving forward in the line. Once we finally get our cokes and popcorn, we go to theatre 21 to see the movie that is starting in 2 minutes. Since we got here so late there’s only a limited amount of open seats so we're stuck sitting right in the middle where there are 4 open seats and get comfortable. The trailers start playing and Tessa keeps pointing out every movie she wants to see, which is basically all of them. She even wants to see the SpongeBob movie.
Right before the movie starts, I hear footsteps coming towards our isle and I look over only to see Zach coming towards us with some random guy, “Oh, hey Lilly is it? Didn’t expect to see you here.” I nod in agreement, “Me neither.” So he doesn’t notice me at all for 4 years straight, and now he decides too? What the hell. Whatever, he better mind his business and not bother me during the movie.
…
About half way into the movie Tessa and I are talking about how cute the actors were, and we were laughing to ourselves quietly when Zach looks over, “if you two could be quiet that’d be great. Some people are trying to watch the movie.” I look at Tessa and Tessa looks at Zach, “Hey Zach, if you could mind your own business that would be awesome.” Tessa tells him. He seriously can’t talk about us, I see him over there on his phone while the movies on. That’s rude, and he said something a few times to the boy next to him. “I like your mom’s cookies!” Zach exclaims laughing so hard. We passed that part like 5 minutes ago, “some people are trying to watch the movie so if you could just shut the hell up.” I hissed. I’m so tired of him!
For the rest of the movie Zach and his friend were fairly quiet, but when we got up to leave he looked at me and grinned, then left. I really don’t have time for any of his pranks so if he could just not plan on doing anything to me, that’d be great.
On our way to Tessa’s house, she turned to me, “what was that all about?”, “How did Zach woods know your name?”
“Were partners in Mrs. Pratt’s class.” I explain what happened and how I was his partner.
“Oh, wow. That must be amazing but bad at the same time.”, “I love it!” she exclaims.
Of course she would love it, but I hate it. Zach woods may be super-hot, but he’s a total dumbass. I drop Tessa off and then go home, my neighborhoods only about 10 minutes from hers. When I arrive home and come in, I see my mom sitting in the living room. “Where were you? I thought you were coming home right after school?” she asks.
“Sorry mom, I had plans with Tessa I completely forgot about.” I reassure her I wasn’t out partying.
“Oh okay Hun. You really need to start telling your mom these things! I was worried about you.” She replied.
“Will do” I mutter and run up the stairs to my room on the third floor. “Love you!” I yell down to my mom. I go to the bathroom and look in the mirror. Brown hair, hazel eyes. Nothing different. I go over to the shower and run the water to let it warm up. I’m in need of a shower after this long day.
hope you guys enjoy! do you guys like zach?? until next time! -Meagan
