Tourism Development Plan: National Library of the Philippines

Statement of the Problem

National Library of the Philippines is the nation’s official premier public library wherein local and foreign researchers and students can conveniently use the historical books, literatures, and manuscripts as their references. This development plan can benefit not only researchers and students in providing a comfortable ambiance while doing their researches and studies but also the society and community in terms of boosting the number of tourists to visit and increasing inbound revenue sources on tourism economically.

To visualize what the researchers want the renovation to be accomplished ideally, below is the questions to be considered:

a. How is the building going to be renovated with regards to its design, style, and even other architectural aspects in order for the visitors (e.g., students, researchers, tourists) to become interested?

b. What are some developments of the facilities for comfortable learning ambiance?

c. What are the areas of consideration on the renovation to maintain a sustainable environment and preserve such potential site to be as an iconic tourist attraction without destroying the nature and its cultural and historical significance and distracting visitors and tourists?

d. How to promote the site as one of the tourist attractions in the country and further enrich the site’s image once the renovation will be done?
