At lunch, I sat alone just like I knew I would when I heard a voice behind me, and I recognized it as Dean's immediately. "Is this seat taken?" He asked, pointing to the one next to me. "N-no" I managed to say, and he sat down. "So," he said, staring at me, "care to tell me more about yourself?" "Well... My name is Jimmy Novak, I am 17 years old, I'm new here, and I love track and field," I said, then blushed, realizing I had said too much. "Athletic," he said, "interesting. I'm 17 too, and I have my permit. Want me to drive you back to my place after school?" He asked. On the inside, I was screaming to say yes. But what if he wasn't as nice as he seemed? I decided to do something risky and take a chance. "Uh, yeah I guess" I said quietly, kicking myself for making such quick judgement.
