Florence was sat against a tree stump as she wept,
It seemed that Bucky's words got through to her and she was beginning to think over everyone that died,
Now she knew that she physically had nothing to do with Tony or 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐅𝐅's deaths as she wasn't near either of them at the time,
But one death that she knew she was always responsible for was 𝐏𝐈𝐄𝐓𝐑𝐎 𝐌𝐀𝐗𝐈𝐌𝐎𝐅𝐅's.
She saw a young child and tried to protect him when she knew that she was about to be shot when he came to the rescue and pushed a car in front of her,
But unfortunately, he had died instead due to the fact that he had been shot so many times.
After the conversation she had with Bucky, Florence began to wonder if she had anything to do with the death of her parents,
Maybe someone knew that the young girl had powers and that was why the Smith couple was murdered.
"Florence!" Bucky called out as he found the girl sat on the ground,
"Go away Bucky," Florence mumbled as she wiped her eyes in an attempt to mask the fact that she had been crying,
"Please can we talk?" He asked as he sat down against a tree that was in front of her,
"It sounds like I don't have a choice," she shook her head as she decided that she wasn't going to fight him,
"Are you trying to get my apology or what?" The brunette asked as he let out a groan clearly feeling unimpressed.
"I don't want your apology," the ginger grumbled as she looked at him for the first time since he found her,
He could see the pain in her eyes.
"I know Sam sent you so what does he want us to do?" She added as she wasn't stupid,
"Why do you think Sam made me come?" Bucky asked as he cocked his head,
"No offence but you really aren't the kind of person who cares about other peoples feelings." Florence shrugged as she knew that it wasn't his fault really.
"Do you really feel like that?" He looked at her with a frown as he realised how she was actually feeling.
"Yeah," she nodded as she remembered a few times where they had been in a situation similar.
"You aren't the best form of emotional support," she added remembering the time when they watched a dog get ran over and he thought she was weird for crying.
"Look I was a dick," the brunette sighed as he shifted his body to be slightly closer to her,
"You got that right," the ginger nodded as she toyed with the end of her braid,
"If you want an apology the side comments need to end," Bucky sent her a glare as he rolled his eyes,
"Steve loved you with all of your heart," he added as he watched her zone out for a moment,
Florence was never like a child to him,
She was his best friend when things got tough.
"Not coming back for you was the biggest sacrifice he probably made," he watched as the tears came back to Florence,
"Should we just agree to be friends?" Florence proposed as she didn't want to listen to the conversation anymore.
"Huh?" He cocked his head as he didn't understand where she was going with it.
"If we are saving the world together then we may need to get along." She explained as she got up,
"We aren't just sweeping this under the carpet though?" The brunette began to learn the girls' traits,
Brushing things under the carpet was one of them.
"No Bucky we are not," the ginger falsely smiled as she dusted the back of her jeans off,
Her thoughts on Bucky were the last thing that she was thinking about,
"Good then," Bucky nodded as he got up too,
"Yeah let's just be friends," he added,
"I've missed you, ya know." She mumbled as she wrapped her arms around him,
There was just something about him that made her not be mad at him.
"I've missed you too." He mumbled as he placed his hand on the back of her neck.
"I definitely did not miss the long hair though," the ginger looked up to him with an amused look on her face,
"Well, then it is a good thing I got rid of it." The brunette had to admit that it felt a lot better without the extra length.
"Indeed," Florence nodded as they began to start walking back to the road,
"Hey!" Bucky let out a scoff as he wasn't impressed,
"I was just being honest." She shrugged as she let out a giggle,
"You've grown a bit," he quickly realised that a lot had changed with her and it was by no means a bad thing.
"Really?" The ginger cocked her head as she didn't notice it.
"And you aren't getting as much sun as you usually do," the brunette assumed that it was either that or she finally hit the bullet and learnt how to use foundation.
"Huh?" Florence furrowed her eyebrows as she didn't understand what was going on.
"You don't have nearly as many freckles as you once did so I am just guessing that it is because you haven't been outside as often," Bucky explained seeing that her face wasn't crowded with them anymore.
"And it is fucking cold," she mumbled as she felt a gust of wind go past them.
"Here," he pulled his jacket off as he placed it over her shoulders,
"Where did you get a coat from?" The ginger asked curiously knowing that he had torn the sleeve off of the one he had on the plane,
"Took it off of the truck before we got off," the brunette explained with a smirk,
"Okay, I have to admit you are a genius." Florence smiled as she put it on properly,
"Don't let that go straight to your head," she added seeing the smirk that was on his face,
"That may be a bit too late Princess." Bucky shrugged as he watched her groan.
"I tried to stop it." She mumbled knowing that there was no point in trying now.
