Life for 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐒𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐇 was never normal by any stretch of the imagination,

She spent the majority of her first few years of life in Wakanda as her parents were both doctors for King 𝐓'𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐊𝐀,

But they, unfortunately, died in a suspicious yet unexplained car accident leaving their three-year-old daughter all alone as they had no other family.

When Florence went back to America for the funeral she met the Avengers who had apparently worked with both her parents a few times.

Now the one who the young toddler managed to catch the eye of was 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐑𝐎𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒,

He had just been woken up from the ice which he had been stuck in for the past 66 years,

He never thought that he would want to have a child but when he saw young Florence sat by herself he instantly grew attached to her.

"Hey," Steve smiled as he crouched down to be eye level with the young girl,

"Hi," Florence turned to him as she waved,

"Were they your parents?" He asked as he cocked his head not picking up who the child was,

"Yeah," she nodded as she let out a sigh,

"Do you want to go somewhere else?" The blonde knew that he could get them into trouble but he still felt that it wasn't right that she was there,

"You're a stranger," the ginger pointed out in a duh tone,

"I guess you're right," Steve nodded as he let out a laugh.

"I knew your parents." He added with a smile,

"Okay," Florence nodded as she pushed herself off of the chair and grabbed his hand as she wondered where he was going to take her.

"Where are you taking her?" 𝐓𝐎𝐍𝐘 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐊 asked with wide eyes as he didn't understand why he was holding the girl's hand,

"There is an ice cream place down the road," the blonde explained as he looked down at the girl who was looking around curiously.

"She is a child Tony, she shouldn't have to experience this," he added with a sigh.

"Just be back with her before things start," Tony warned as he knew that it would be suspicious,

"The last thing we need is people thinking that you are kidnapping this child." He added knowing that it wouldn't go down well.

The duo sat at the ice cream parlour as Florence focused on her bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream,

"You enjoying that?" Steve asked as he smiled,

"Yeah," Florence looked up with ice cream lining her lips,

"What are you looking at?" He cocked his head as he saw her staring at something,

"The gold," she pointed to the chain that was around his neck,

"Did you like it?" The blonde asked as it was the first thing that the girl had focused on since he met her,

"It's shiny," the ginger giggled as she found herself funny,

"Here then," Steve reached behind his neck and took it off.

"Really?" Florence let out a gasp as she smiled,

"Yeah," he nodded as he put it on her,

It was way too big for her small body but that didn't matter,

"Thank you," she smiled as she began to fiddle with the chain,

"No problem." The blonde rested his head on his hand as he couldn't help but smile looking at her.

Shortly after this Steve adopted Florence and took him in as though she was his own.

He originally thought life with the toddler would be easy but then quickly learnt about her powers,

It turned out that the young girl was able to control two of the basic elements,

The elements that she was able to control were fire and water,

Which was ironic as she is a Gemini.

But from the moment that they saw she had powers she was with Tony as they tried to control it,

All whilst making her a valuable asset to the team.

But after the Blip when people try to get back to what they assume is a bit of a normal life,

How exactly will Florence who is now in her twenties handle it when she has to face the loss of not only her mentor but also the man who took her in all those years ago?
