I ate the food that Luke made me, not knowing whether to eat quicker or eat slower to avoid an awkward conversation. Either way, it didn't seem like I was going anywhere, not with the looks that my brother was throwing my way.
"Can you stop staring at me like I'm insane, please?" I asked, politely. I sent him a false smile and he rolled his eyes at me, before he looked around the room, grabbing the nearest book.
I could tell he was pretending to read it, he started right in the middle and I could see his eyes staring right back at me as I would glance at him. He may have been intimidating but he sure as hell wasn't slick.
"Whatever you're going to say, just say it now." I sighed and took another bite of my sandwich. "You might as well multi-task." I added on but mumbled it under my breath.
"It's a question, actually." He stated and I made an 'mhm' sound at the back of my throat, implying that I was interested when I wasn't at all. "Even though I've put these rules down for your safety and your wellbeing, will you go against them?" He asked.
I paused as I was about to take another bite of my food. I lowered the sandwich down and placed it back on the plate, then I leaned back in my chair as I stared at Luke, with caution.
I thought about just saying 'no' to be done with the conversation but Luke didn't seem angry when he asked me, he seemed genuinely curious. What would I tell him?
At first, I thought I'd be too scared to go against Luke but then I thought 'fuck what he thinks, I can do whatever I want', which lead me to come to the conclusion that I didn't know what I would do about his rules. I would have to wait and see where school took me.
"Honestly, I don't know." I told him and picked up the sandwich, continuing to eat. I didn't have much left to eat, which encouraged me to eat faster, even though I didn't know whether it would get me a ticket to freedom or a dreadful conversation.
"I think I might get you a bodyguard." Luke spoke up, after a while. I rolled my eyes at him as I swallowed my mouthful of food. "It's nothing to do with the rules thing, before you say anything. Just in case Wyatt pulls another kidnapping stunt."
"I don't want a bodyguard. Plus, dad would get suspicious about someone following me around, wouldn't he?" I asked and Luke sighed, knowing that I had made a good point.
"Well, can you fight?" He asked and I bit the inside of my cheek as I thought of all the times I had attempted - and failed - to put up fights with Jake, my mom and Daniel.
"I have a mean kick and I can throw a great punch." I tried to defend myself, but I think Luke caught onto the fact that I was pretty shit at trying to defend myself. I wasn't very good at the fight or flight action.
"Hm, I guess we'll have to train you." He told me and I raised my eyebrow at him. "When you've finished eating that, get into a more active outfit and then we can leave." He told me but before I could ask any questions, he pulled his phone out of his pocket and began typing on his phone.
I sat there for a few minutes, completely dumbfounded. He was going to try and train me? A super unfit, fifteen-year-old with major anger issues? I would just embarrass myself.
I was starting to rethink taking him up on his offer of a bodyguard just so I didn't have to exercise. Although it probably wouldn't have worked because I already gave him reasons on why not to get me a bodyguard.

I got out of the car and gaped at the building in front of me. It was huge. It must've been so expensive to buy the place, let alone run it. I couldn't even begin to imagine how much everything inside was.
