Annabeth was frozen beside me, her glistening lips pursed and her stormy-grey eyes becoming unreadable like every time her mind tries to find an answer. She looked very different—she knew it herself; wearing a white sleeveless silk dress, her braids braided with golden threads, and wearing makeup, something even Selena couldn't accomplish doing it. Then there was me—similar, but not quite me; purple sleeveless dress, elaborate braids on one side of my head, and golden pieces of jewellery littering on my neck, hair, fingers, practically any place of my body. There was something off. I could feel it. Something was definitely off here. I knew. Annabeth also knew.

Our gaze was stitched to C.C., a beautiful lady with silky-black hair and vivid green eyes—a face I find familiarity in. Her voice was like one of her weavings—beautiful yet somehow complicated as if the sound was structured to do something. Then there was the flame on her palm, flickering brightly.

"And you"—her smile broadened and seemed to gleam sinisterly—"you are my sister, Vivienne. We both share the same blood. Not only do you have the potential, you are destined to become one."

We both took a step back. There was a faint sound of claws scratching metal and an animal sound, saying reet, reet.

"Stay with me," C.C. said. "Study the ways of sorceress with me. You will learn how to bend other's will."

Annabeth opened her mouth. "But—"

"You both know that you can't trust that silly camp for heroes. How many great female half-blood heroes can you name?"

"Um, Atlanta, Amelia Earheart—"

"Bah! Men get all the glory." C.C. closed her fist and the flame extinguished.

"Is that why you don't have any men in here?" I asked, raising my brow.

"Of course!" Then she studied me. "I see that you are staying in that school of magic in Scotland..." She started to ramble the cost I am risking by staying in Hogwarts with my friends.

"Are you aware that witchcraft is holding you back from your sorcery, my dear?"

I wanted to smile for my success on my plan for bidding time for Annabeth to take in the information she just received. Yet, as I listened to what Circe says, doubt started to creep inside me and poisoned my mind.

Is learning magic in Hogwarts really worth it?

Luckily, Annabeth was able to help me snap out of it.

"You... C.C...." Annabeth muttered, then her eyes lit up. "Circe!"

C.C., Circe, stopped her chatter and faced her with a pleased face. "Yes, my dear."

We both backed away from her while she laughed gleefully. "You dears need not worry. I mean you two no harm."

"What have you done to Percy?" Annabeth's eyes flashed like a bolt of thunder in the storm.

"Only helped him realize his true form."

"What do you mean by that?" I said, fisting my hand. Watching Annabeth from the corner of my eye, I stared at Circe sceptically.

She merely glanced at my fist and smiled sweetly. "I see that you already know a few things about sorcery. It is a shame that you still fully do not understand how to control it."

"How do you—" I stopped myself and shook my head.

Then Circe looked at Annabeth, who was staring at a cage filled with guinea pigs. "Forget him," she told her. "Join me and learn the ways of sorcery."
