Hoot, hoot.

Glancing at the window, I spotted Fides, Tom's snow owl, knocking on the window with its black beak. I raised the window and shut it quickly as I did when Fides entered with a single hop. Argentum merely glanced at the owl and let out a deep yawn before settling on a spot to sleep.

I gave Fides owl treats, took the letter from him, and let him go back to his owner.

We'll be training in the Chamber of Secrets. Abraxas and I will be in the girl's bathroom in 8:00 p.m. today. Do not be late and definitely do not get caught.

Tom & Abraxas

I checked the clock and widened my eyes. It was 7:50 and who knows in what mood the stairs are at the moment.

"Goodnight," I announced, "I'm going to bed."

"Goodnight," they answered without giving any thought.

I slyly snatched a pair of clothes from my bag and waved my wand to close the curtains around my bed. Somehow, I was able to change into my clothes while sitting on the bed without making a sound and listened to the others if there was any major commotion outside my territory. Satisfied that everything seemed peaceful and nobody was observing, I concentrated hard on imagining that my skin blended into the shadows of the surroundings.

I didn't dare look down to see how I looked before I carefully opened the curtains without rattling the chains and tip-toed my way out of the dormitory. My roommates didn't even shift their eyes towards me as I moved past them and I smiled widely as I slipped past the narrow opening of the door.

Jumping, running, and skipping down the hallways and the moving stairs, I finally stood in front of the girl's bathroom on the first floor while panting hard. Letting the Mist fall down, I stepped inside the bathroom, only to be met by shocked squeals from Tom and Abraxas.

"Merlin, Vivienne," Abraxas breathed out, trying to compose himself out of the high-pitched sound he let out moments ago.

"Sorry," I smiled.

"Did you bring the book?" Tom asked.

I didn't answer his question and just simply showed the book that I held openly between my arms.

He nodded, satisfied, and gestured at the big hole—the entrance to the chamber of Salazar Slytherin.

Stepping cautiously towards it, I swallowed when the sound of air rushing through the dark tunnel whispered in the air. For the past two years since discovering this entrance and killing the basilisk, I avoided using this bathroom and now that I have come here now, I just realised how much changed. Since the letter and the declaration of my training came on such short notice, I didn't have enough time to ponder about entering the chamber again.

"Are you going in or what?" Abraxas sneered behind me.

I gave him a look before raising my palm in front of me. The purple streak of fire ignited easily and flickered on my palm without any danger; it was small but the light it cast was enough to light up the entire room of the stone-built bathroom and now I could clearly see the faces Tom and Abraxas mastered on their features.

They looked surprised and was watching the fire on my hand as if they haven't seen it before in their life. When they glanced at me, a lopsided smile appeared on my face.

"I practised."

Taking in a handful of breath, I sat on the ledge of the hole and pushed the edge with my hand, my body propelling forward until I dropped. The slide was shorter than I remembered and soon enough, the clearing appeared and I jumped out of the tunnel. Abraxas then Tom slid out of the exit after a few moments.
