He hadn't realized just how cold it was until the car was already speeding away. He kicked the ground and yelled at the sky in anger. As if the sky felt his pain, it wept and soaked his clothing. He walked along the road silently, shivering uncontrollably under the cold rain. Cars passed and every once in a while someone would stop to talk to him, or offer him a ride which he would politely decline claiming he liked the rain. He hummed to keep his mind off of the coldness or the way the puddles that formed at his feet sank into his new shoes. "Fuck him...Fuck them both I don't..i don't need them" he sniffed and continued on. about two hours in and the rain only got worse, pounding on his shoulders roughly.

He found shelter under a tree in the park he used to love when he first moved here. He remembered sitting on the swings, looking like an adult child as he kicked his feet to move it faster and laughing with childish wonder. He remembered taking his cousin alejandro here for his birthday so long ago. He hadn't seen his family in a long time, not that they missed him of course. They had wanted a lawyer for a son, A straight son. He was neither of these things. The memory instantly turned bitter so he pushed it away focusing on the empty slides. His phone pinged and he checked it. A warning stating that a thunderstorm was on it's way. He cursed and stood up, he would have to find somewhere to stay lest he get electrocuted by a stray bolt. He started to cry suddenly realizing where he wanted to be. Home. He ran, fast, down the paths. Taking an hour just to reach the neighborhood he had lived in for almost a year. The house loomed above him as he rushed to the front door and knocked rapidly. Almost instantly the door was flung open. "i just..want to come home"  a warm pair of arms wrapped around alex, causing him to stumble slightly before allowing his arms to wrap around the taller male and latch onto his shoulders. "are you okay? Your all wet..oh my god it's been hours..we were so worried" Alex had expected it to be karl, but it was Nick who spoke. Nick who was hugging him. They were worried. "I..I'm fine.." He sneezed and then coughed. Nick pulled him into the house, rushing to wrap him in blankets until he could get warm clothes.

"IS HE SICK?" Karl yelled, clearly angry at Nick but grateful that Alex was okay. "I'm sensitive to-" Alex let out another sneeze "cold weather" He finished embarrassed to have karl holding him like a toddler. He rested against them thanking the gods that he was back home.  Karl asked if he wanted to get in the bath. Alex nodded and Nick picked him up, lettin the boy cling to him like a monkey as he made his way to the bathroom, starting the bath and helping Alex with his clothes. Out of respect he turned away when Alex was fully undressed until he was safely under the bubbles. "Thanks.." Alex said. The first time he had bathed with Nick, which he only slightly remembered, The two boy's had noticed Alex had bruises almost everywhere on his torso. "Well..call us if you need help..." Karl said hesitantly. Alex stopped them, turning red. "um...do you wanna join me?...I mean..you don't have to" karl was already pulling off his shirt and nick was slipping in behind alex causing the mexican boy to laugh genuinely. They splashed each other with the soapy water, made bubble beards like children, and alex wrapped his arms around karl's waist. "i'm happy" He blurted suddenly "Me Too" Karl said kissing the boy's forehead. Alex leaned in and kissed Karl then Nick. both men were rendered speechless as Alex got out, wrapping a towel around himself. "THAT WAS OUR FIRST KISS!" Nick yelled excitedly, karl giggled and they got out wrapping towels around themselves before joining alex in getting dressed.

each wearing a huge smile on their faces.
