PREETI POV
I was sad and angry at myself for letting him so easily say those shit on my face. How could he think so low about me? what have I done , that he reacted that way. I have never given him any attention also cause I hardly know who he is. I just know he is a celebrity but what and nothing about him. what could have made him think so very low about me?
I could have said to him many things like what a big of am idiot he his thinkingof himself as so high and mighty, or that he maybe a cricketer but he has no right to humiliate me. Whi gave him.the permission to.judge me. His brain is filled with rotten garbage. i maybe poor and not rich like him but he has got no right to treat me, the way he treated me.
His words are still loud and clear, in my mind. i just couldn’t help myself and forget them, they keep on repeating in my head. I made myself busy the entire evening yet it was those harsh words from his shitty mouth that was haunting my thoughts.
Ruby was aware of the change in my mood and she didn’t push me further about it. She has known me for a long time that I would speak up if I need to. she can be pestering sometimes but is considerate enough to know when I need my space.I was quietly working my shift and was serving one of the customers when suddenly a panicked Ruby approached me.
“Preeti, please would you just clean and close the café. Prakash’s son is not well, he is vomiting continously so he is rushing to the hospital with him, even I’m.going over there. Here take this keys, you can directly come in the afternoon with the keys. Ok, check the locks properly.” She said handing me the keys and left away hurriedly.
I was just dumbfounded at her revelation about she and Mr Prakash and all this stuff. I knew something was up but its not my nature of prying in someone’s personal life so I didn’t ask her anything about it. Mr Prakash was a divorce’ , he and his son Rohan live together. Rohan is a very cute little boy. Though the circumstances have made him much saner then his age. He understands people very easily just like a grown up adult. Sometimes the situations are so harsh that one has to grow up before time to face it. Mr Prakash would brings him on Sundays here that's how we were acquainted. I just hope henis fine and gets better soon. How mr Prakash would be handling him alone, thank God Ruby went over there. I'm sure with her by his side he might get some hope.Once I’m done with the work here, I’ll surely call and check on Rohan.
After eight I turned the sign at the door to closed. So no more customers can enter and those present once done with their drinks left. After half and hour, I cleaned the mess in the café, my station, tables and disinfected the café. Then after making sure everything is properly placed and in order. I tripped the main switch and then locked the café. I double checked the lock, a habit I inherited from my mom of checking and rechecking the locks. I wore my jacket and headed for my home.
Now after lockdown and things Ruby was my ride home and when sometimes she leaves early due to some work I catch a bus home. I just wish that I could catch it fast. Since now only limited people can travel so we have to wait for another bus in case if the bus gets filled bybthe passengers. Let’s keep my fingers crossed. I started waking towards the bus stop when I heard someone’s car honk.AUTHOR'S NOTE.
HOPE U GUYS ARE DOING WELL.
