it had been a year.
a year since he left you.
and it was the first time since then that you were visiting his grave with a small smile.

you looked better and you felt better. finally you were able to live without him, without breaking down whenever you remembered him.
of course yuji would always leave an empty space in your life.
but it wasn't as painful anymore.

you layed down the bouquet of tulips you bought, kissing your fingertips and gently pressing them on the grave stone in front of you.

you had already watered the flowers, that were still growing on his grave.
"i still miss you but it's getting more bearable with every day. and i'm having a lot of help too." you told him as you sat down. you only had a bit. after this megumi and you would go to the carnival that currently was in tokyo.

"you know especially megumi does. i think i'm really starting to like him." you quietly confessed, leaning against the stone.
you knew he wasn't able to hear you and he wouldn't answer too but it was a good therapy for you to just sit there and talk to him.

just like you two did while he was still alive.

"he's been so patient with me and whenever i'm sad he's there to cheer me up." you mumbled, leaning your head back you stared to the sky.
"i know he was your best friend but i guess you're rather happy that i'm finally moving on. at least that is what i would have told you if this was switched. i mean i wouldn't be able to tell you but i guess you know what i mean." you continued, fiddling with the hem of your shirt.

"a few days ago i was finally able to actually go in your old room. the last time i've been there i broke down crying. we sorted out some things." you mumbled and pulled something out of your pocket.
then taking something off too.

you digged a little hole, letting two necklaces drop in. you smiled softly. matching ones. heart charms with either the first letter of the other one with a cute picture of you inside.
"i don't know why but it feels right to leave these with you." you mumbled. you had other things that held enough memories to remind yourself of him.

"now a little piece of our love will be with you forever." you whispered as you put the earth ground back on the necklaces.
you gently pressed your hand down, for a brief moment feeling some kind of connection to yuji.
"i'll love you forever." you whispered before getting up and slowly dusting off your clothes.

you stood there for another moment, and for another second it felt like he was standing right next to you.
he would never really leave you.
he is a part of you and that part would also always love him and yearn for him.
and that was okay.
it was. you wouldn't want to give up what you had completely.
he was your first love. and he would always have a special place in your heart.

you squeaked when you suddenly felt an actual hand on your shoulder.
but you relaxed when you recognized megumi's laughing.
"sorry the oppurtinity was too good." he apologized, as you playfully smacked his arm. "idiot." you mumbled but couldn't help a blush slightly.
"you ready to go?" he asked, his eyes lingering on the grave of his old best friend for a while. "yeah." you said, gently squeezing his arm.

he smiled softly and started walking together with you.

the wind was gently rustling through the leaves, making you smile a bit.

"i hope you're happy." the wind whispered while yuji smiled down to the love of his life.
