Chapter 5

"Hi ms Bailey, my name is detective Connor. I'm  just here to ask a few questions and you'll be on your way as long as you cooperate ." He said sitting on the other side of the table.

"Does this belong to you?" He asked sitting down on the table a Ziploc bag which contained my cellphone. "Yes" I answered hesitantly.

"I'm not sure if u are aware but 5 persons died in a shooting incident at club midnight on Saturday." He said leaning forward. "Your phone and your friend's car provides evidence that you were both at the club that night.... Care to share anything that you may have seen or heard that could help us get to the bottom of this case?" He asked looking me directly in the eye.

"I don't really remember." I said clearing my throat. " I had a few drinks and was a bit tipsy.....i remember hearing gunshots and screams ...i started running and that's about all I remember....i don't even remember losing my phone." I lied.

He nodded sitting back in his chair. " Ok ms Bailey..... One last question." He said while opening his folder that sat in front of him pulling out a picture showing it to me. " do you know him?" My heart skipped a few beats as I panicked a little. It was a picture of Ace. I wasn't sure if I should answer honestly or not. "No" I lied again shaking my head.

"Are you sure?" He asked looking me directly in the eye. "Yes.. never seen him" I said lying a third time. " we have reason to believe that this guy was the intended target that night." Detective Connor said placing the picture back in his folder. "Well known drug dealer." He said catching me offguard. "I've been trying to get a hold of him for years ...never enough evidence" he said shaking his head. "Well ms Bailey you are free to go, don't hesitate to call me if you remember  anything else." He said pulling out a business card from his pocket handing it to me.

I picked up my phone, walking out the room going to the waiting room where shay was already waiting. She was taken to a separate room for questioning.  She stood up as soon as she saw me "you ready?" She asked as I walked up to her. "Yeah " I said following her out the station where her car was parked out front." How did you get ya keys?" I asked as we got into the car. " I texted kelsi and asked her to  bring them down." She replied starting up the car and pulling off.

"So what did they ask you?" I asked breaking the silence. " they wanted to know what happened the night at the club..they found my car as evidence and blah blah blahh" she said laughing. I smirked. " So the detective showed me a picture of who they thought was the intended target because he's a big time drug dealer etc ....girl you'll never guess who it was"  I said looking at her. "Who?" Shay asked glimpsing at me before looking back at the road.

"Ace " I said shrugging.
"What?" She asked chuckling a little  as I nodded. "So if he's a drug dealer then what does that make Romario?" She asked glancing at me. "Why you worried about Romario?" I said lifting a brow at her. She blushed laughing a little. "lemme find out" I said laughing as well.

Ace POV

"You owe me" I said keeping a serious face as she closed the door walking into the building.  I'm not gonna lie she was one bad mf. Face on 10 , body on 10  but right now I wasnt too interested with being boo'ed up. I pulled off going straight to Ro's house. After that shit that played off last night we had a lot to discuss.

I pulled up to Ro's crib parking in his driveway before hopping out and ringing  the doorbell. After about 10 seconds he opened up the door allowing me in." Took you so long nigga? " I asked walking over to dj dapping him before taking a seat on the couch. "Sup A" "lemme  see if you still got it" he said handing me a gaming control to play  2k with him. " yo I'm bout to show this nigga how professionals do it." He said adjusting his camera to me. I sucked my teeth putting the controller down." Cut that shit off yo"  I said getting irritated.

Ro laughed already knowing what  I was thinking. "What I told you about that shit?  Huh?" " can't be no drug dealer and youtuber at the same time... That's too much attention you drawing to yourself and us." I said keeping a straight face. "Nigga wanna be a celebrity" Ro said laughing. This nigga think everything a joke.

"Man you already know why I do it." "Niggas gotta earn clean money to get the feds off my back. You know  that's why u got  ya own business he said referring to the barber shop I owned where I had people working for me.

" Yea but it don't got people dying to get to meet me...or wanting to take pics when they see me." I said rolling up a blunt. "That's bad for business." I said taking a pull from my blunt. Him and his ex had been doing this YouTube stuff for years after they broke up about a year ago I thought he would  give it up but I was wrong.

"Aight enough of that."Ro said looking at us " What was that about last night?" He asked referring to what went down at the club. "I got word from Mixx that Bruce set this up. He still mad about  the whole situation." I said taking another pull of my blunt.

Bruce used to work for me at my barber shop. He was one best barbers i had. The biggest mistake I made was letting him get close to me. He saw how much money I was making and how much power I had over these street niggas and he wanted it all. He set me up and tried to kill me. But I didn't allow him to get away with that. Which resulted in him losing two close friends and his brother.

"We can't allow him to get away with this so easily." Dj said, shifting in his seat. "So what you thinking?" Ro asked. "I have a plan."I answered. Just then dj's phone began to ring and he picked up  answering . "Seriously? ..Which station?..aight call me back when you get an update." He said pressing the end button. "That was kelsi..the feds pulled up to Shay's place and took her and Brielle down for questioning about the  shooting." He said......
