THE FATHER AND DAUGHTER DUO STOOD IN SILNCE AS THEY MADE EYE CONTACT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS.

"What are you doing here?" Rory asked, looking up at the man who had caused them so much pain throughout the years.

"Can I come in?" He asked, his voice soft as he stared down at his daughter.

"I don't think that's the best idea." Rory shook her head slightly, she didn't want Nathaniel to see him and her mom wasn't home to deal with Steven herself.

"Hey love who's at the-" Oliver started as he walked up behind Rory, stopping once he took notice of the man in front of him. "Steven."

Oliver had meet Steven a few times throughout his time knowing the Gray family. He was a pretty absent father who would disappear for days on end without so much as a note to explain his departure. And then one day he just never came back.

"Oliver. You've grown up." Steven said as he glanced back and forth between the tall boy and his daughter. "Both of you have."

"And maybe you would've noticed that sooner if you would have stayed." Rory said with a fake smile as Oliver placed a hand on her back in comfort.

Steven sighed and ran his hand through his hair. "Look Rory-"

"It's Aurora to you." She cut him off quickly.

"Look Aurora." He quickly corrected himself. "I want to explain myself, I need my family back." He said honestly.

"Yea sure." Rory scoffed but opened the door for him to enter nonetheless before turning to Oliver. "Can you distract the guests while I talk to him?"

Oliver nodded. "Of course darling." He told her before leaning down to whisper in her ear. "You got this, don't let him get to you." And then he placed a kiss on her forehead before shooting Steven one last look and walking into the kitchen where Spencer and Crystal were talking to James.

"Follow me." Rory sighed as she led her father into the living room.

"So you and Oliver huh?" Steven asked as he glanced to the room Oliver had disappeared in. "I'm happy for you. He's a good kid."

"So why are you really here?" Rory ignored his words and cut to the chase as she took a seat on the couch, scooting over to make room as he sat down beside of her.

"I already told you, I want my family back." Steven said, staring at his daughter with a look of sincerity in his eyes.

"Explain." She told him, hating that she was actually giving him a chance to explain himself after all this time.

"Shouldn't I wait for your mother to get here?" He asked with furrowed brows.

"Nah." Rory shook her head. "She'll probably kick you out the second she sees you. You should tell me now."
