E I G H T E E N

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN,
Normal Family.

"WE WANT TO TRY TO BE A FAMILY AGAIN."

In sync, both Rory and Nathaniels mouths dropped open in shock at the words that had just left their mothers mouth.

Their mother, who held a mean resentment against their father, their father who was now sitting in front of them with a nervous smile on his face as he took in their reaction.

Now don't get her wrong, of course Rory wanted her family back. But so soon? Was it really a good idea to hop into things?

"I don't entirely understand." Rory said slowly as she glanced back and forth between her mother and father. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Nate nod his head in agreement with her.

"Not right now of course. That would be way to soon." Esme quickly assured her kids causing them to sigh in relief. "What we mean is that we want all of us to be back together eventually."

"Right now we're just going to take things slow, and then when we're all ready we will be a family again." Steven explained. "We're pretty much starting over."

From Rorys side Nathaniel let out a loud scoff. "Does that mean you have to try to get mum to go out with you again?" The seven year old asked with a raised eyebrow as he crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back in his seat. "Because let me tell you man, women are impossible. They may be sexy-"

"Nathaniel!" Esme scolded her son who just held a hand up at her and continued on.

"They may be sexy but they are devils. Spawns of Satin I tell you. One minute you think they love you and the next they are knocking down your lego spaceship with no remorse." He finished with a sad shake of his head, ignoring his sister who buried her face in the couch to control her laughter.

"I heard that you stupid bitch!" A small voice called from the kitchen only to be followed by a high pitched "Skyler!"

Steven just stared at his son with a blank face before asking "who hurt you?"

"Better question, who didn't?" Nate said as he held up a finger.

Steven nodded and leaned back in his chair, seeming to get lost in thought as he thought over the seven year olds words of wisdom.

"Okay." Rory giggled as she wiped a tear from her eye. "Back to the topic of discussion. Are you guys sure that this is the best idea?"

"Rory hunny we don't mean today." Esme told her daughter reassuringly as she reached out to grab her hand. "We'll take this one step at a time. If all goes well good, that's great for us. But If it doesn't work out oh well, I'll still be here at the end of the day and so will your father. We're not going anywhere. Right Steven?"

"Right." He quickly agreed as he grabbed Rorys other hand. "My biggest regret was walking out on you all, there were other things I could have done to keep you safe but I ran like a coward and hurt the people I love most. I'm not making that same mistake again."

Rory smiled and turned to look at her brother who was now smiling as well. Maybe, just maybe, they could actually be a happy, normal family once again.

"I actually have a question." Nate suddenly spoke up.

"What is it buddy?" Steven asked.

"You guys won't have the sex with me in the house will you? Because from the stuff Cardi said in WAP and Nikki said in Anaconda, I don't want to be near such sin."

Rory loudly groaned and threw her head back as her father laughed and her mom let out a gasp.

Okay, maybe they wouldn't ever be a normal family, not with Nate in the house anyways.

But that didn't mean they couldn't be a happy one.

I hated this chapter but I need to update lol.

I've been slacking lately cause I'm failing  a few classes and need to get my grades up. That's why I haven't updated much.
