Tess's Backstory

I was 10 when the accident happened. The last thing I remember was the few moments before the car hit. My older brother, my parents and I were driving down the road when a huge semi ran a stop sign collided with us, killing everyone but me. I hit my head pretty hard, that's when it all started...

I was put into an orphanage, after only a few days of being there I started to hear an overwhelming amount of voices in my head, I never said anything to anyone out of fear of them putting me into a mental institution. My time there was long and lonely, I had nothing. I was never one to make friends in school so the only friends I had was my family, and now they were dead. After 3 years the voices got louder and louder and the quantity of them got bigger and bigger, I finally broke down. When lunch time hit I stood up from the table and I screamed as loud as I could whilst grabbing my head, I couldn't stop myself I just kept screaming and screaming.

I was taken away from the orphanage and was put into an institution because I had been acting out. The voices never went away and no matter how many times I complained they gave me medicine (which didn't help) and sent me to my room, they ran experiments on me and pulled and pinched every nerve and muscle that's on my body. I would return to my room bloodied, bruised and tired .

-2 years later-

It was rec time and I was playing cards with another patient when these men in suits walked in. They looked very official. The main man who seemed to be protected by some type of bodyguards looked to be in his early sixties older fifties. He turned his head and made eye contact with me then retired his gaze to the receptionist. They talked for a few minutes, then the receptionist stepped out and motioned me over to her.

"Tess this man is here to transfer you into his care." the receptionist said motioning over to the man

"Hello, I'm Alexander Pierce and I'm here to help." he said extending his hand

I grabbed it and he pulled me away and out of the door. The bodyguards put me in the back of a vehicle and no one said a word for what I assumed was the four hour drive. We arrived at this abandoned building and went inside. There was an elevator which took us down to the bottom floor of this building. The bottom floor looked way more different, it was very high tech looking.

Alexander to me over to this room, I guess more like a cell and sat me down there.

"We know what's happening to you. You have psychic abilities, they are stronger than you know. You're not crazy, you just simply need to learn to control them."

I didn't change my face on hearing this news. After being emotionally and physically tortured I was numb and it didn't phase me to learn I had powers. Noticing this Alexander seemed defeated and decided to get up and motion me to follow him.

I got up and we walked over to this cold damp room where six girls were sitting in a circle chatting. When I entered they immediately stopped and looked up.

"Girls, I'd like you to meet Tess. Tess this is Bailey, Shauntel, Molly, Meghan, Hadyn, and Kiera."

They all waved me over to come sit with them and every since then we were inseparable.

I was trained vigorously and tirelessly to fight. They would strap me in a chair and put waves of electricity through my brain, it was the most pain I've felt in my entire life. The only good thing that came out of it was that Shauntel ended up helping control my powers and I will forever be thankful for that. Because of this tortureI ended up losing my past memories of my family and I only kept the ones I had with the girls. After a while I learned the name of the organization I was working for 'HYDRA'. After I realized what was happening I knew what we were doing was wrong but I couldn't stop or get out. I finally had a family and they were worth the torture.
