Chapter 1

I took a step to go to my room. Without making any noise, I opened the door of my room and to my surprise, I saw a new painting.

"Hello, Lilac!" my cousin, Kokoa, embraced me with her warm hug.

While hugging her, I also took a glance at the painting in front of us. I know she painted this because I taught her how to. The blending of colors is right and the characters she made were on point. It was just that the message was a blur to me.

"When did you come back?" I asked while she looked at me.

My room is a little messy since it was last week when we arrived here and I was not shocked if my aunt will buy a new house. She wants her children to be more comfortable than before with me.

"Early in the morning! I painted it before going here and I hope you will like it because I did." Kokoa carries the painting and lays it on my bed where I am sitting.

Kokoa again hugged me. She is one of my comforts when I was in Japan, together with her brother, Hiroshi. Her brother is two years old than me while he is four years older than Kokoa.

"Are you going to study at my school?" I asked and hugged her back.

She shook her head, "I will study in another school but maybe Hiroshi would be with you there."

"Hiroshi?" my eyes widen and when we both turned our backs, there he is.

"Lilac!" he smirked and walk towards us.

"Stop hugging her, Kokoa. It's my time to hug Lilac!"

"I thought there's no one here and I'm alone again. I did not expect the both of you here since I know auntie is buying some essentials for the house."

Hiroshi hugged me and held my cheeks.

"Yes, she is. But she told us to hide first before we go home. I was too late to hide so I just looked at the painting while waiting for you." Kokoa presented the painting.

"You like doing art with Lilac. Why don't you hold an exhibit for it?" I raised my eyebrow and shook my head.

"There is no need for that, Hiroshi. These paintings I made are just for fun and-"

"Your passion." Hiroshi put his arm on my shoulder.

Kokoa teased us because of Hiroshi. I again shook my head and left them in my room. I will find something to cook since it's early in the evening and knowing auntie, she wants Hiroshi and me to cook before she goes home.

"What do you want to cook?" Hiroshi opened the refrigerator door and got a bottle of water.

"Anything that you both like."

Kokoa appeared and helped in preparing the ingredients. I don't usually cook, but when I go to Japan and lived with them, I learned how to. Auntie taught me how to cook properly and after cooking, you should clean all the things you used and don't taste the food you made.

I don't know why she told me that but I guess that is her way of cooking, so I ended up tasting her dishes every day back then.

"Lilac?" I glanced at Hiroshi while cutting the onions.

"Hmm?" I answered and continued what I was doing.

"Why did you think that there was no one here? Are you still scared that he will follow us and chase you?"

That made me stop cutting the onions. Hiroshi directly ran to me because he thought I got a cut from the knife but I did not.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked that. I was reckless, I'm sorry." he held my hand and I pulled away.

"It's not your fault so it's fine. Don't worry, I was just startled." Hiroshi bit his lips and nodded at a slow pace.

Kokoa pats my shoulder and smiles. Her eyes are telling me the same thing Hiroshi wants to say. I understand it, I just need time to heal. I need time for myself.

"Hello! I am here!" a smile crept from my lips as I heard our aunt's voice.

The fear that I felt earlier was changed by the presence of my family. I would not make it if it wasn't for them.

We greeted her and she hugged me. Kokoa joined us which made Hiroshi chuckle. He was laughing yet he still joined us. Did he think of how cheesy was the hug that it made him laugh? This guy is crazy.

"I was talking to the owner of the house next door. I invited them to dinner since I know Lilac will cook for tonight."

Another smile showed up because of what auntie announced to us. I felt excited because this is my recipe and the other people will taste it.

"Our chef has her great recipes for tonight!" I threw my apron to Hiroshi because he endlessly teased me about how my recipes will be tested by the other people.

He is way more excited than me together with his sister.

After an hour and a half, I presented the food properly on the table while Hiroshi and Kokoa cleaned the whole house. My aunt is here with me, smiling while preparing the drinks and groceries she bought earlier.

Maybe I should find a job so that I can help her with the bills of the house. I know how hard it is for her to leave Japan because it's her land, but she insisted just to protect me.

The doorbell rings as Hiroshi volunteered to open the door. Auntie followed him and while they are outside, I drank the water that Kokoa gave me.

"You must be tired from cooking all of these. I tasted the pasta and it's so good." she created a thumbs up that made me smile.

"You are smiling often today! I am happy for you!" Kokoa approached causing why she ran and I came next to her.

"Yes, they are here."

It was a sign to look at the visitors and my eyes widen as the guy who wears a black leather jacket with a turtle neck is the varsity player!

What is his name again?

Jinyoung?

Jinwoo?

Jiwoo?

Ah! Jihoon!
