Marinette's friends helped her cheer up a little. A faint smile was visible on her face. Unfortunately, they couldn't erase the damage that was already caused.
"I can't believe that! They didn't even let you explain yourself!" The anger could be easily heard in Kagami's voice. "That damned liar! Just you wait Mari, I'll show her!" The vermillion-colored-eyed girl crossed her arms, and a sly grin appeared on her face. "I should challenge her to fencing duel...She has to pay..."
The rest of them laughed at Kagami's statement.
"Thank you guys...for everything you're doing for me" Marinette said after she finished laughing.
Luka gave our aspiring designer a side hug and smiled at her. "No need to thank us, we're friends. And I don't know about you and Adrien but I would love to see how Kagami is crushing Lila at that duel" He ended up his speech with a wink.
"Totally!" Adrien grinned. "But, let's be serious now. We have to do something about this." The green-eyed boy crossed his arms and faced his friends. "This isn't the first time she lied about Marinette." Everyone except Marinette clenched their fists. "But let us make it her last."
"But, how do we do that? She's very good at lying... She got me expelled last time.. remember?" Upon remembering that awful day, sadness filled Marinette again.
"Maybe she is, but we still have to try! If we manage to expose her and all the lies she ever told, no one will believe her, ever again." Kagami put her hands on Marinette's shoulders "So her lies won't hurt anyone, especially you." An aspiring designer couldn't help but smile at her friend.
"She's right." Luka smiled. "Besides I'm pretty sure that Goddess of Justice is on our side" The rest of the group smiled and nodded.
The young model looked at his phone and was saddened. "Oh man, look at the time... Me and Kagami have to get going, let's talk later on video chat" Everyone nodded.
"Wait, I'll walk you guys to your cars, besides I should go as well...and I should talk with Juleka too.." After a group hug, they left Marinette's room. After that bluebell-eyed girl left to her balcony to one last time say goodbye to her friends.
After a few minutes, her parents called for her. Marinette's smile dropped as she left her balcony and went to the living room. As soon as she sat next to her parents, Sabine spoke.
"Dear, we have to talk..." She smiled softly at her daughter.
"We don't know what to think Marinette" Tom said while crossing his arms. Then he added.
"But..." Both Tom and Sabine looked at each other and then at her daughter.
"We want you to apologize to Lila.." They said in unison.
The aspiring designer looked at both of her parents with shock. She only managed to say quietly
"What?" as she softly backed up a little. Marinette was already damaged emotionally by what happened earlier in school, but this? She couldn't believe her own ears. Apologize to Lila? For what exactly?
"Listen honey..." Sabine started but couldn't finish, because her daughter stood up and left to her room with her head down.
"Marinette!" They called after her but without a result.
The young girl tried to calm down as she was pacing back and forth in her room, her kwami told her to take a shower and wait for her friends' call.
After a long and sadly not relaxing shower, Marinette just couldn't take it anymore. She slid down and started to think about this whole situation. Her eyes were already red and puffy from crying. The aspiring designer didn't know what to do, she tried her best not to cry and think about a positive way to end this whole disaster. But it was easier said than done. When she was about to break and start to cry again, her computer and phone started to ring. Marinette went over to her computer and clicked a green button on her screen to start a video call.
"Hey guys" Kagami waved to her dear friend.
"Hey Kagami...Where are Adrien and Luka?" Mari tried her best to smile.
"They said they will be late few minutes..but...are you okay? I can see that you've been crying. Did something happened after we left?" The vermillion-colored-eyed girl asked with noticeable worry in her voice.
"It's just that..." Marinette sighed. "I don't know what to do...even my parents want me to apologize to ----"
"WHAT?!" Kagami raised her voice and slammed her fists on desk.
"Whoa, Kagami calm down, what happend?" Luka asked confused.
"I simply can NOT believe this!" Kagami crossed her arms, she was obviously furious.
"Let's calm down. What happend?" Young guitarist asked again.
"I'll tell you what happend! Mari's parents want her to actually apologize to that liar!" The vermillion-colored-eyed girl tried her best to keep her voice from rising.
Luka flinched and his blood was boiling but he knew that wouldn't solve the problem. He was doing his best to remain calm and look for the best solution. "Mari? Did you explain the situation to them?"
"No.." She said softly. "They just said I should apologize to her..I..I just stood up and left...Maybe...Maybe I really should ----" The aspiring designer couldn't even finish her statement.
"No" Luka's voice was serious. "If you do that, everyone will think that Lila was telling the truth. And she will try to do something even worse."
"He's right Mari" Adrien agreed to Luka's words.
"Look who finally decided to show up" Kagami teased.
"Sorry, sorry" The young model quickly apologized. "But now we're all here, so let's think about plan"
"Alright Mr. Agreste" Both Kagami and Luka teased, and Marinette just smiled.
