Marinette was just sitting and staring at her computer. Was something interesting displayed on her monitor? Absolutely not. She was simply looking at it. The aspiring designer was lost in the world of her thoughts. The teenage girl didn't even notice that her parents entered her room. She was still just staring at her monitor. Sabine and Tom called out to their daughter, but she didn't even flinch. No reaction at all. The gray-colored-eyed woman put her hand on Marinette's shoulder.
"Huh?" The bluebell-colored-eyed girl looked behind her.
Both Sabine and Tom looked at their daughter in shock. It was obvious their precious child was crying all night and didn't sleep as well, judging from her appearance.
"D-Darling..." The short woman removed her hand.
Marinette turned back to continue staring at her monitor.
"If you're here to try to convince me to apologize to Lila again...then I must refuse..." The aspiring designer got up and left her room, while her eyes filled with tears again.
Just as she entered the kitchen, a few tears ran down her cheeks as she hugged herself in a comforting manner. This time, she knew that her parents are behind her.
"You didn't even ask me about my part of the story! You assumed that what she said is the absolute truth! Like most of them!" She turned to look at her parents and then continued. "I didn't push her! I didn't threaten her! I was with Adrien when that happened..." The teenage girl tried to stop the tears that were falling down from her eyes. "Why...Why don't you believe me?!" Marinette slid down to the floor. She hugged her knees and hid her face in them and began to cry again.
Her parents just looked at each other with shock written all over their faces. Their daughter was right. They didn't ask her about this whole situation. Both of them just assumed what Lila said was true. They didn't let their own daughter explain herself. Now, they know why she react the way she did.
"M-Marinette..." Sabine took a step closer to her child.
"Mari!" Someone bolted from their spot to the crying girl and hugged her tightly.
The aspiring designer was trying to calm down.
"With all due respect...I think it's best if I take Mari up to her room" Teenager faced their friend's parents.
"Y-Yeah...I think it's for the better" Tom spoke while hugging his wife and looking at his little girl's state.
"Thank you...Kagami" Sabine spoke.
"No need to thank me, Mrs.Sabine, I'm Mari's friend...and I WILL stand by her side.." Kagami replied with clear anger in her voice, targeted at the married couple.
The vermillion-colored-eyed girl was furious and disappointed with her dear friend's parents. As parents, they should at least let Marinette explain herself.
"Are you okay?" Kagami asked with worry in her voice.
Marinette just went to her bed and covered herself with a duvet.
"Yeah...I think now I'm alright..." The aspiring designer just mumbled. "I-I just wanna be alone for a while..."
"A-Are you sure that you will be alright on your own?" The vermillion-colored-eyed girl asked.
Silence filled the room.
"Yeah...I...I just need some time...I'm sorry you had to witness that.." Marinette answered with a soft voice.
"Alright...We'll check on you later..okay?" Kagami wasn't really excepting an answer from her friend. She knew it was hard for her. Even if Kagami wanted to stay quietly by her friend's side, she needed to respect Marinette's wish to be alone for a while.
