****IKAWALANG LIBRO - UNANG KABANATA****

   Kokoy doesn't have plans.

   He's not the type of person who scheduled or organize stuff. He would just often go with the flow, heck, he can't even feed himself on time! But now, he has companion sa katauhan ni Elijah, well, kapusaan? God, he didn't know how to address the kid properly, does he sound racist?

   "Anong gagawin ko sa'yo?" Tanong niya out of nowhere habang nakatingin dito.

   The hybrid was just sitting there, on his black sofa, pouting.

   Xavier on the other was standing beside him. Still looking confuse the package turned out to be a kid. All this time, ang akala niya ang nag-smuggle lang sila ng gold bars or diamonds, but this?! Damn! This was really something that he would never expect!

   "Wait - lemme ask this again, this kid is Gaspar's child?"

   "Oo." Flat na sagot ni Kokoy.

   "How the fuck he has a child?! And a cat-like child?!"

   He sighs, "I know right."

   Xavier poked Elijah's ear, "This is really real...Wow...So, how does this happen?"

   Hinila niya ito sa isang sulok at pabulong na nagsalita, "Gaspar had sex with his mom, don't be stupid, you know how the birds and the bees copulate, except he's not a bee." Kung hindi eh baka naging si Jollibee na yung kaharap nila.

   "I know, I know! I just - can't believe hybrids exists!"

   He sighs again, then sat down on the sofa in front of the hybrid. Not knowing what to do, kinapa nya ang bulsa niya at hinugot ang lighter mula doon. "You got some cigarette?" tanong niya kay Xavier.

   Xavier handed him a pack of marlboro blue and sat not too close beside him. "What are your plans now? Chief wouldn't be happy if he knows that Gaspar has a son."

   Their commander in chief would just take away the kid, probably takes him to the government's lab and study him. For a moment, Kokoy thought it wasn't a bad idea. But looking at the poor kid right now, he don't think he'd last there. Pagi-eksperimentuhan lang ito ng government scientists.

   He lit the cig and smoked it, "No one has to know..."

   A safer house is necessary.

   That's what his first thought. He needs to move out from his old pad because some of his mafia colleagues knows that place. With the help of Xavier, he was able to find one. A bit bigger place, minimal crowd to the point that there's almost no neighbors around and much safer. It was a two-storey house, 3 rooms with personal bathrooms each so he doesn't have to share it with anyone.

   Once everything was settled, Him and Xavier sat down the couch while he told the hybrid to stay inside one of the rooms.

   Then someone knocks on their door. Nagkatinginan sila ni Xavier dahil wala naman silang ine-expect na delivery.

   He grabbed his gun that was resting on the side table and tiptoed through the door. Xavier grabbed the baseball bat that was on the side of the door. He peeped on the door first and cussed, "Fucked..."

   Xavier immediately opened the door to welcome a familiar face.

   "Bat ang tagal mong magbukas ng pinto?! May hawak ka pang baseball bat! " Sakmat ng tao sa harap niya.

   "Whoa... Micooo..." He plastered his toothpaste smile. "Welcome back!" Akmang yayakapin niya sana ito pero iniharang agad nito ang magkabilang kamay.

   "Hey, hey!" Sabi nito na tila nandidiri.

   "It's been a year! I didn't hear anything from you, welcome back, pare-tsong!"

   Kokoy hid his gun on his back.

   The newly arrived man walked inside the living room, "And who's this?" Tanong nito referring to Kokoy.

   Kokoy shifts his eyes to Xavier who's now caught in, "He's my friend." Napakamot ito sa ulo. "He just moved in today..."

   "What do you mean moved in?!"

   "Well... Kasi... I thought you're not going back here so... I recruited a new housemate."

   "Wow lang, Xavier ah! Ni hindi ka man lang nag-paalam sa akin?"

   "You were away, I didn't know when are you coming back!" Depensa niya.

   "Do you need money that badly para ipaupa itong bahay nila mama with a stranger?!"

   "Whoa, they're not strangers, they are my friends..."

   "They?!"

   "Well, he's..." He paused then continued, "With his, brother..."

   "Wait-" Kokoy butted in, "He's your brother?" tanong niya kay Xavier. He didnt that this tall monkey has a sibling.

   "No!" sabay na sagot nila Mico and Xavier.

   "Okay," Xavier started explaining, "He's my step mother's son. We're not blood related, just half-brothers."

   "Yeah," Humarap sa kanya si Mico, "And you," turo nito sa kanya, "You and your brother can start packing now dahil andito na ako. I'll just pay whatever this idiot's debt from you."

   Then they heard someone walking down the staircase at sabay-sabay silang napatinigin doon, it was Elijah who woke up from the noise that's coming from the living room.

   His jacket's hood undone showing off his perky ears.

   Napasinghap si Mico sa nakita, awang ang mga labi, "Jesus-Christ!" He exclaimed.

   Nanlaki ang mga mata ni Xavier habang napatapik naman sa noo si Kokoy.
