I couldn't believe it.

Daehwi was right in front of me, on the phone with someone. His face was etched into it's usual frown, but it seemed more bitter this time. Who was he talking to?

Before he caught sight of me, I quickly pulled my hood down lower and scrambled home with the bags in my tight grasp.
"Oh so you went shopping?" Wooseok asked when I arrived.

I ignored him and dashed straight for the stairs and went two at a time. Not wasting time on fumbling for my keys, I rapped on the door and waited for Yeji to open it.

"Woah, what happened to you?" she asked, concern seeping into her features.

I shoved past her and headed for the kitchen, where I lay the shopping down and sat down on the bar stool before my knees gave way. Even Ryujin came scampering to see what was up.

"I saw Daehwi," I blurted out, letting an exhale past my quivering lips.

No-one said a anything for a while. Yeji simply blinked while Ryujin's face contorted into a mixture of different emotions. Eventually, someone spoke up.

"What was he doing?" came the voice from the stairs. I glanced to find Jisu watching me intently.

"He was speaking to someone on the phone...and looked pissed. You don't think..?"

"I highly doubt it," Ryujin answered, lifting up some of the stuff I brought from the bags. She spared me a look before she sauntered off. "Daehwi wouldn't get involved in business that's not his."

I looked up at Yeji expectantly. Her words were the most comforting but even she had an unknown expression on her face.

"I'm sorry Chae," she said after a while. "Daehwi is a sketchy man, and there's no telling if he's involved with her or not." She didn't say anything else but instead started to unpack the groceries.

I reluctantly stood up from the stool and trudged towards the stairs, however was stopped by Jisu. She held my shoulder firmly, making me gaze up to her eyes.

"I know she told you not to find her, but I'm ninety-nine percent sure Daehwi knows where she is," she told me. "Even if the others aren't on board, I'll help you find Chaeyeon."

"Thank you, Jisu," I nodded, giving her a small smile. She returned it back before sloping back into her room.
I was left on the stairs, pondering about my sister's whereabouts.

Where are you, Chaeyeon?

"Come out!" The voice spoke up again, sounding as if it were only a couple inches from me. I shrouded myself even smaller.

It seemed like I had been praying for eternities, when suddenly I heard rapid knocking at the door and then it being blown open. The burglar's hand had just skimmed the mirror.

"Fuck!" they hissed and quickly bolted out of Minhee's room. I didn't try to peek to check if the coast was clear, but Minhee did. I heard him shuffling around all the various items he kept under his bed, and then finally wriggling out free.

"Minji!" he hissed, but it was so quiet that if I hadn't been concentrating then I would've missed it. "Come out, it's safe!"

Trusting my brother, I left my post at the mirror and shared a worrying glance with him. "W-where did he go?"

Thundering footsteps coming up the stairs reminded us that there were more people in the house, and soon Seulgi's figure emerged into view.

I collapsed into her arms as she also brought Minhee into the hug. "Are you guys okay?!" she asked, her voice trembling violently.
