I breathed in the unpolluted thin air. I was thinking about what I was going to do next, then panicked. I gasped, and flew to the Green Mountains as fast as I could. I had totally forgotten that I was going to teach some younglings how to fly! When grandles are babies, they have wings, but shed them when they're about ten or eleven years old. When I got to the Green Mountains, there were already three of the younglings there. I recalled that I was to teach four of them. I saw a mother carrying her child flying towards us. "I don't wanna go!" the child screamed "I wanna be like the elves and climb trees!" The mother set down on a rock "Gloria, I've told you a million times, you are a grandle. You will fly." That led into a chorus of screaming and screeching. I carefully approached them. "Good morning! I'm going to be teaching you today, and I promise it will be a lot of fun." Gloria frowned at me, "You can't promise that. I don't wanna." "I can promise you will have fun," I retorted "Because I was just like you when I was a youngling."
