SOOJIN POV

Observing their faces of shock, I felt my muscles tense in anxiety.

I haven't outwardly told anyone from BigHit where I went after I left.

Their faces stayed frozen as I chewed my lip nervously.

"Soojin you're at YG?" Jungwon asked quietly.

I nodded.

With eyes still wide all of a sudden Sunoo exclaimed.

"Soojin! Oh my God. I'm so proud of you!"

The boy ran up to me and engulfed me in a hug.

"I thought you gave up on being an idol after you left. It makes me happy knowing you're not wasting your talent."

In awe, I smiled at his words feeling an overwhelming feeling of love.

I guess I was scared for nothing.

Melting into Sunoo's arms I suddenly took notice of the other idol standing in his spot.

His eyes looked dead panned on the floor before looking up at me.

"Have you told BigHit yet?" he asked.

I shook my head.

"Not even Hyunsik?"

Again I shook my head.

A pit formed in my stomach as I watched the boy sigh disappointingly looking to the ground.

Saddened by his reaction, I slumped my shoulders.

"Don't worry about him, he's not a big fan of YG." Sunoo spoke comfortingly.

I nodded understanding his words.

"I'm sorry Jungwon, I promised it's nothing against you guys." I spoke honestly.

He hummed nodding his head, before snapping out of his upset state.

"I know, it's okay. Just be safe alright? We all want you to be okay."

I smiled at the boy.

"Especially him." he added raising his brows.

My heart stopped as I heard his words.

"Him?" I asked in curiosity.

All of a sudden there was a shout from across the room.

"Sunoo! Jungwon! Get into the van please, we're taking you back to the company!"

Jungwon chuckled briefly before grabbing Sunoo by the shoulder.

"You know who I mean." he whispered into my ear.

Soon enough the two boys left, leaving an amused Jinhyuk and shocked me.

"So when were you gonna tell the company of your relationship with the boys of ENHYPEN?"

Snapping out of my blank state, I quickly shifted my attention to my manager.

"I-uh didn't know I had to." I responded nervously.

Jinhyuk scoffed as he turned to face me.

"Soojin are you aware of the history YG has with BigHit?"

I shook my head.

I watched as the man exhaled deeply and folded his arms together.

"For the longest time YG has been dominating the kpop industry because of BigBang and 2NE1, but that all changed when BTS started gaining insane popularity..." he spoke staring at the ground.

"Ever since then there's been a fierce rivalry between the two companies especially with BlackPink in the picture."

Hearing his words I felt my chest clench.

Is is really that hard to just support each other's success?
The kpop industry is toxic as heck.

I wonder why Sunghoon never mentioned this...

As if reading my mind Jinhyuk shook his head.

"Don't worry it has nothing to do with the idols, just greedy rich old men." he stated.

I hummed in response.

"But still, their selfishness affects their idols. It's so frustrating." I replied huffing my shoulders.

The man nodded before taking his weight off the arcade game.

"Well, it's not up to us to try to change them." he began, "Instead, let's focus on enjoying the rest of your birthday."

Hearing his words, my eyes lit up.

"Round 2?"

JINHYUK POV

After the long session at the arcade with Soojin, I finally dropped her off at her dorms and headed back to the company. Aware of my scheduled follow-up meeting with Saeri, I made my way to her office.

Knocking on the door, I took a deep breath.

"Good evening Saeri-nim." I greeted bowing.

The woman signalled for me to come in, her attention glued to her laptop. I watched as she continued to type vigorously, avoiding eye-contact.

"So?" 

Her vague answer took me off guard as I quickly opened up my clipboard.

"Uh yes, Miss Soojin was a delight. Although she was overwhelmed at first by your proposal, she seemed understanding in the end."

My muscles tensed as I watched the woman shake her head.

"No, I mean't the bad things. Were there any red flags?" she asked impatiently.

Thinking back to my time with Soojin I shook my head.

"No history of drinking? Smoking? Bullying?"

Again I shook my head.

"What about relationships with other idols?"

As her question was asked, I felt myself freeze. Noticing my hesitance to answer, Saeri's typing stopped.

"Let me ask you again, does Soojin have any relations to any other idols?" 

Swallowing the lump in my throat, I quickly shook my head.

"No, Saeri-nim she does not. I apologise I am quite tired today." I replied faking a small yawn.

With my knees trembling I avoiding eye contact with the woman as she eyed me up and down with suspicion.

"Alright..well you know what happens to you if I found anything out." she stated firmly.

Gulping, I nodded, rethinking as to if my decision was the best idea. The woman took her eyes off me and resumed her typing at her laptop.

"Okay, that is all. You may leave now, Jinhyuk-ssi." 

Hearing her words I quickly bowed at the woman and heading back out into the hall.

You owe me big time Soojin.
