I stare at Josh. Did I hear the name he just said correctly?

"Uh who?" I ask trying to verify what he said.

"Daniel Wilcox. He's my new step brother. My mom and I moved here to be with Daniel and his dad since they finally got married after 5 years of dating," Josh says emphasizing 'new'. He seemed excited to have a step brother. If only he knew what he had just stepped into.

I sit there stunned by what I just heard. How is that possible? I mean yeah it's possible for two parents to get married, but it had to be a hot guy being "related" to another hot guy, when this hot guy was a part of some sick twisted game.

I sit back against the seat, looking at the cup in my hand, I try to go over as many questions as possible, trying to figure out their answers.

Why didn't Rebekkah tell me anything like that!

How did Rebekkah get invited here? She's popular and all, but h-

I stop my train of thought and jump to a main question that is extremely questionable.

What if she's in on this game helping them? Josh could be secretly one of then since he is Daniel's new step brother! Paranoia pulses and flows to the rest of my body.

"I need to leave," I murmur.

So many questions filled my head. An awkward silence fills Josh's bedroom. I can feel him staring at me. I look at him and he begins to open his mouth to say something, when I jump off the chair and storm out of his room not wanting to hear another word from him.

Josh is a nice guy. I wish he wasn't related to any of the Fiery Five. Even though he isn't genetically related, he's still part of Daniel's family.

I slide down the staircase handrail spilling my drink on a few drunkards below me, pass all the dancing drunks, looking for Rebekkah. She is on top of Chase, giving him a drunken lap dance. The scent of alcohol fills the air around the two of them. I pull her off and drag her into the closest closed off room.

A bathroom, good. No one ever uses a bathroom at a party like this, they all try to make it to the rooms upstairs.

"What the hell, Shawni?" she slurs, taking my fingers off of her arm.

"We need to go," I firmly say, looking her dead in the face.

"I was busy and having fun!" she giggles, throwing her arms up into the air.

I close the toilet seat lid and sit on it, burying my face into my hands. Rebekkah lowers herself down next to me. Her entire mood changes.

"What's wrong?"

"I met this really awesome guy and we went upstairs. His name is Josh and-"

"Oh yeah! I forgot to mention that Josh was Daniel's step brother! I'm sorry," she trails off.

"That's why we need to leave. I left him upstairs and I don't want to face him again. You know how I get."

"Shawn, we've only been here for a few hours. You can't be serious!"

"I'm dead ass serious, dude," I look up at her. She looks down to the ground and gets up, standing in from of the mirror to examine her makeup.

"You know, everything doesn't involve around you, Shawni. All semester, everything is about you and me helping you! Sure, I sound jealous because I'm used to all the attention, but seriously Shawni! Let me do what I want to do without me needing to wait for you to answer me back! I swear I think this is the worst thing that could have happened," she continues to look at the mirror, not even turning to look at me. I sit there looking at her, not sure what to say to everything she just said.

"As you said before, you can handle this yourself when you came up with the plan!" she turns and exits out of the bathroom, slamming the door.

I get to my feet and yank open the door. She quickly disappeared with the sea of people. As I'm walking out, I catch a glimpse of Dylan and Josh on the bottom steps of the stairs. Wide eyed, I turn and push passed everyone to get out of the door. I cross the wet lawn, feeling the earth under my bare feet. I take my keys out of my pocket and get into my car. I grip the steering wheel hard enough for my knuckles to turn white. I put my head on the wheel closing my eyes.

This day has been interesting. Anything else I should know about? I was irrationally scared. I was beginning to think that I was meant to meet Josh who was undercover for the Fiery Five, because well. He's fucking sexy as hell and I surely would be fine if other things went down in his room- Shawni stop it!

I sit there for about 10 minutes in utter silence barely hearing the bass to the music.

Remembering to lock my doors just in case if anyone tries to look for me, due to my sudden burst out of the house.

*knock tap knock*

I look up hearing a series of multiple knocking and tapping sounds at the same time on the window. Dylan and Josh stand outside my car door.

"Shawni open the door!" Dylan and Josh say in unison. When they realized how the words mixed perfectly, they busted out laughing.

"Fuck off," I say putting my head back down onto the wheel and giving them the finger. I turn my head to face the passenger side and reach for my phone, sending a text to Rebekkah.

Me: Get a ride.

Dylan knocks on the window once more. I drown out his knocking by turning my car on, blasting the music, and pull out of my parking spot, heading home.
