*BEEP BEEP*

A car honks from outside my window.

What? Who the hell is here?

I get up and walk over to my window, looking out the blinds.

Daniel.

Apparently those 5 minutes turned into 5 seconds.

I make my way back down the stairs feeling awful for what I did earlier today. Maybe the main reason I felt bad was because if it hurt me, it must have hurt him, but he deserved it. Seeing him now might possibly make it up to him, I think.

I open my front door and he's standing there about to knock. His mouth drops and words hesitate to come out of his mouth.

"What? Did I startle you, sweetie pie?" I chuckle.

"Well uh I just uh," his voice trails off.

"Come on, where are you apparently taking me?" I question as I grab him by the wrist and drag him to his car. He suddenly stops and yanks back his arm, gently massaging his wrist.

"Just get in and I'll take it from here," Daniel says demanding as he gets into the driver's seat. I stand there taken aback from his sudden change in attitude. He must be still upset, is the only thought that goes through my head as I get into the passenger seat. First I see this confused angel at my door and now this demanding straight-up-dude.

"And put this on. It's a surprise," Daniel says to cut the silent void, throwing a bandanna at my face. It falls to my lap and I stare at it shocked. I immediately ball it into a wad and throw it back at him.

"The fuck? No!" I snarl defiantly, and cross my arms.

"Fine. I'll just take the back way," he says as he pulls out of my driveway.

He pulls to the side of the road next to a forest. I bite my lip with uneasiness. All possible horror movies fill my head, jumping straight to the situations a guy leads a girl into the woods and there's a killer lurking. Or if there's a plot twist and the guy actually rapes the girl, then kills her.

"You don't have to toy and bite your lip. It's okay," Daniel reaches over and pulls my hand away from my mouth.

"What's going on?" I ask, feeling completely lost.

"Just get out and be quiet." Daniel says, getting out of his side and slamming the door. I get out and listen. In the distance is Carnival music. I suddenly make eye contact with him.

He's smirking with his hand out.

I walk over and firmly take his, with him leading the way. The music begins to get louder and the lights begin to appear. A warm bubbly sensation flows through my body as I remember coming to Carnivals with my mom, dad, and sister.

My saddened thoughts over my dad are interrupted by Daniel's tug, pulling me towards the hammer game. A large variety of colorful large stuffed animals fill the wall behind the bell.

*DING*

Right to the top with ease.

"Here you go, Shawni," Daniel smiles, holding out a purple teddy bear that was half the size of him. I reach out and hug it to my chest without a word.

"It's purple like your hair," he gently takes hold of the ends of my hair before trailing to my forearm and leads me to the Ferris Wheel. Numerous amounts of people pass by without a care of how I look, how he looks, how anyone looks. It's like no one knew about my situation, turning a blind eye to the problem.
