chapter twenty seven: frienship

"Dude, where is he?" Kie panicked when John b didn't show when he was supposed to

"Give him a second. He'll be here" Pope assured her

"He's coming. He'll be fine" JJ said as him and Blake got the boat ready for him and Sarah

"They're probably running all the way here,  so it might take them a while" Blake said "Shit!" she exclaimed when they heard a police siren approaching them

"JJ! Blake!" Kie exclaimed

"Hey, yeah. Get back on the boat"  JJ and Blake went to untie de rope so they could leave before the cops reached then

"Untie it!" JJ rushed the other three

"Wait, wait, wait!" Blake stopped them when she saw who was inside the car "No way"

"No fucking way" Pope said as the four looked at John b opening the front door of the police car

"I'm sorry, uh-" Kie started

"This can't be real" Blake got down from the boat quick and threw her arms around John b excitedly "How did you do that?" she asked him

"Shoupe let me take it for a spin" John b replied

"Okay. That's believable. I'll buy that for now" Kie said hugging John b

"It wasn't easy, bro, but I got the Phantom for you, and she runs like she was made yesterday. You ready to go?" JJ asked John b showing him the keys

"Where's Sarah?" John b asked looking around

"She's not with you?" Kie questioned

"No, we got separated in the swamp. She said she'd meet me here" John b replied concerned

"We've been here for a while and she hasn't appeared" Blake told him

"Okay, well, I'm not leaving without her" John b shook his head

Blake understood that but she knew that John b was in much greater danger than Sarah. She loved her so much but she had it easy being a Cameron.

"John B, look at me" JJ made John b look at him "I know you feel bad for leaving, but there's no time, man. You've got plenty of gas, plenty of food" he told him  "Once you get around that point, it's a straight shot across the sound to Dismal Swamp, okay? Once you get there, lay low, all right? Hang out for a couple of weeks and then go overland, cross the border at Brownsville, you got that?" JJ explained the plan to John b again

"Yeah, yeah. Brownsville" John b replied

"Alright. Saddle her up, saltwater cowboy. Let's do this" JJ instructed the others

John b hugged his friends quickly before he hopped into the boat, who knew how long it would take for them to reunite.

"Hey. Hey. I'm sorry for basically... throwing us off a cliff with this whole treasure hunt thing" John b apologised for the mess he threw his friends into

"Hey, John B, yo we were bound to run off a cliff at some point, right?" Jj said making the others laugh
"At least we did it together, though" he said wrapping his arms around Pope and Blake.

"Pogue style" Kie said as all the Pogues joined a group hug

"Pogue style" John b affirmed

"Get out of here! Please" Kie demanded him emotional
