One spring day, Aimee was in a private discussion with her mother, Queen Mermelada, about her possible marriage to a lesser-known prince from the tuna fish kingdom. However, Prince Pelmazo may have appeared to be a handsome and charming prince with a kind and loving heart on the surface, but in reality, he was a selfish and unkind man who treated women as if they were objects to be used and controlled. Although Aimee could not see it when she first met Pelmazo two years ago, by the time she began to see the true colors of Pelmazo's personality. Pelmazo had already gotten both the royal council and the Queen's blessings to propose marriage to her. "But Mama, I do not think that it would be good if I went through with this marriage," Aimee told her mother. "Pelmazo is terrible to me, he expects me to be perfect at all times, and he wants me to be someone I'm not."

"He is a prince, darling," Queen Mermelada said to her daughter. "The entire council agreed that if you married him, it would provide the kingdom with a strong political alliance."

"Well then, you can tell the council that I will not marry someone who I do not love and who does not love and respect me for the person who I am," Aimee yelled out as she angrily stormed out of the room. Not long after she had left the presence of her mother, Aimee met up with two of her friends, Athena and Charles, the one who was able to convince Aimee to break off her relationship with Pelmazo. They immediately began making their plans to go to the mountains with the rest of their friends that very summer. Meanwhile, Caddaric himself wondered if and when he would find true love. Despite his good looks and good-natured personality, Caddaric was a rather shy, soft-spoken, and sensitive soul. Although he could easily be himself with his friends and family when Caddaric was trying to charm a girl he liked, he was unsuccessful.

As he sat staring out of a window alone with his thoughts, his friend, Daniel, walked up towards him and tapped him gently on the shoulder, which brought the young prince back to reality. "What's wrong, Caddaric? Why are you here staring out of the window on such a beautiful day?" Daniel asked Caddaric in his usual cheery manner. "Daniel, do you know when I will find the one woman I will love for the rest of my life?" Caddaric quietly asked his friend. "I cannot answer that. Are your parents still asking when you are going to find a nice girl to marry?" Daniel said as the young prince ran his hands through his short dark hair before answering his friend.

"I cannot choose between all of the girls I have already met for two main reasons. First off, it is not right to select a woman like an item on a shelf. Secondly, I do not wish to marry someone who does not love me for myself and whom I do not love," Caddaric explained. It was no secret that the King and Queen were wishing and hoping that their two sons would settle down and have their own families one day. However, how could Caddaric commit himself to a single person for the rest of his life without having a special connection with them? "Why don't you come with me to the mountains this summer? Who knows you might meet your princess there?" Daniel asked as he presented the offer to his royal friend. "Alright, my friend, maybe I will find my True Love on this trip," Caddaric said, agreeing to his friend's offer. Fortunately, this decision would allow two halves of the same heart to meet and fall in love.
