The Union of Peanut Butter and Jelly

A Royal Holiday Romance

"You're the prince!" Aimee said, somewhat surprised at her discovery. "And you're a princess!" Caddaric said, equally astonished as she was. "Caddaric, why didn't you tell me the truth about who you were?" Aimee asked her beloved. "For the same reason why you didn't tell me the truth about who you were," Caddaric said as he began to explain himself. "I wanted you to get to know me for the person who I am rather than for my crown. Until now, I thought you could have been either a peasant or a servant girl. Even if you were, my feelings for you would be the same as they are now. My darling Aimee, if I were a simple peasant or a lowly servant, would you still love me as much as I love you?"

Hearing those words, Aimee threw her arms around Caddaric's neck and locked her lips onto his in a full and loving kiss. Luckily, due to his impressive strength, Caddaric was able to lift Aimee closer to his face since he was eight inches taller than she was. Once they ended the kiss, Aimee looked into Caddaric's eyes and spoke the words that came directly from her heart. "Caddaric, even if you were born into the most impoverished peasant family, I would still love you and you alone. For you wouldn't have been a prince by birth, but you would still be a prince at heart, and that is all I care about."

"And I know that if you were common by birth but royal at heart, I would happily give up my crown just so I could be with you," Caddaric declared happily to her. "Would you do the same for me?"

Luckily for Caddaric, he didn't have to wait long for an answer. "Of course I would," Aimee honestly told Caddaric. "After all, what is the point of having everything you could ever want if you can't share it with the love of your life?"

Caddaric sighed as he replied. "My darling, I find it hard to argue with your words, for they are true. Everything that can be offered by the life of a royal, including wealth and fame, is meaningless if you cannot share it with the one person who is your True Love."

With their declarations of love revealed to one another, Caddaric and Aimee sealed them with a passionate kiss. Caddaric then escorted his beloved Aimee to her quarters, which were luckily located next door to his own. Throughout Aimee's stay in the palace, her and Caddaric's love for one another continued to grow and become more robust with each passing day. Aimee also became close with Caddaric's family so that his parents treated her as if she was their daughter and his siblings treated her like a sister. Caddaric always treated Aimee with little romantic surprises and told her about his kingdom's traditions and history. In return, Aimee treated Caddaric with little surprises of her own, and she also shared the history and traditions of her kingdom with him.

Caddaric and Aimee learned more about each other over the passing weeks by telling stories about their childhoods. With Caddaric telling Aimee stories about his parents and stories about himself and his brother and sister while growing up and Aimee telling Caddaric more about her own life and her mother, sister, and late father. From Aimee's perspective, spending the winter holidays with Caddaric and his family was the best experience of her life. For the first time in nearly a decade, Aimee experienced what it felt like to be in a loving and close-knit family. Throughout all of the holiday banquets and feasts, Caddaric and his family would treat Aimee to all of the traditional dishes and treats of the Peanut Butter kingdom. The many combinations were given to them by their neighboring allied kingdoms that included apples and bananas and crackers and marshmallows. Aimee also contributed to the banquets and feasts by treating Caddaric and his family to the traditional dishes and treats of the Jelly kingdom, much to their appreciation and delight.

Even the entire royal court and the whole kingdom saw how happy and in love Caddaric and Aimee were with one another. Everyone who saw them together highly approved of their relationship, for they could see that True Love. Whenever the young couple appeared together in public, everyone could see how happy and carefree they were together, especially when helping those less fortunate. At the royal holiday balls held at the palace, everyone in attendance could see how deeply in love the prince and princess were with each other. Caddaric would dance only with Aimee, and throughout the entire night, the young couple never left each other's side. 

Once the New Year began and the holidays came to an end, Aimee started her long journey back home.
