Chapter 6

Asami watched as Emily typed out some more note on her computer. "Now lets talk about what Mates are." She said to him and everyone in the room went silent. Asami fidgeted in Daemon's lap. He was so afraid to speak it felt like he lost his voice altogether. "Its okay my little fox, just take a deep breath. No one here is going to be upset with you. You have done nothing wrong." Daemon whispered reassuring into his ear. He relaxed and let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. He took several deep calming breaths. Daemon's heavenly scent, fresh pomegranate lemonade, helped relax him more. Sam gave him a reassuring smile. After one more deep calming breath he started to speak.

"Mate's are a bond between two or at time more people. It is very common for Alpha's and Omega's to be mates, but not always. All supernatural being have a mate. They are gifts from the Moon Goddess. However not all mates will find each other." He answered. "That is correct. Do you know what the mate bond is and how it helps to identify your mate." She asked. "Yes, mate bonds are what is formed between the people of are destined to be mates. It is a bond that once completed connects two souls together as one. So that they can better support each other. As for identifying the bond. Mates give off a scent that is very special to their mate. As well there is physical signs." Asami replied. Emily nodded as she typed. "Now this maybe harder and I need you to be 100% honest with me. What have you been told about being a human Omega." The room was silent as they waited for him to answer.

"Human Omega's are... worthless..." He mumbled. "What else?" Emily promoted. "Um..." He hesitated. "They are not wanted...unlovable... embarrassments... and will always be rejected..." Tears started to prickle at his eyes and his voice cracked at the end. Everyone looked at him with sorrow and concern. "This is completely wrong." Emily sighed. "What have you been told will happen if you were to be found by your mate?" Emily asked hesitantly. Asami remained silent for several minute and they all were waiting on baited breaths for his response. After several minutes Daemon spoke. "Asami, its okay, your okay, but we need to know." Hearing his words laced with concern make his heart ping with pain. "If... if you find your mate... they will.. um." He gulped and then two a deep breath trying to calm himself. Tears threatened to fall and he tried to fight them back. "They will either.. um.. be abused.. or rejected... or both..." He told them, his voice almost inaudible. "I knew it." Sam muttered.

Daemon wrapped his arms around him and hugged him against his chest as tears began to fall. "Asami nothing you just said is true. Yes, there are some that will do that, but its sadly happens to all types of Omega's, not just humans. The truth is that human Omega's are treasured as you are a very rare type of Omega." Daemon tried to explain. Emily and Sam both agreed. He wanted to so badly believe what they were saying, but there was a part of him that kept fighting to not believe it. "Should we take a break? It's right around lunchtime and there are several more things I need to ask you." Emily asked. "A break sounds like a good idea." Daemon replied and Sam agreed. Even he was in agreement. He needed a break, however the idea of food was less appealing as his stomach was starting to turn a bit.

Daemon had insisted on carrying him back to the pack house. Oddly enough he fit perfectly in his arms and it was ungodly comfortable. Daemon set him on a bar stool in the kitchen. "What would you like for lunch?" He asked him. "Honestly I am not really hungry." Asami told him while holding his stomach. "Why don't you make him some chicken noodle soup. It would seem the medication is starting to mess with his stomach." Sam chimed in. "But.." "No buts. You heard what Emily said. You need to eat and stay hydrated." Daemon told him as he set a glass of water in front of him. He took it and sipped it hesitantly. Happy that he didn't feel the need to throw up. Daemon made him some soup and he ate it. About half way he started to feel sick so he excused himself. Daemon had started to stand up and go with him, but he stopped him. "I am just going to lounge of the couch, finish eating. Please." He said as he walked into the living room. He plopped down on the couch and got comfy.
