Chapter 9

Daemon woke to someone knocking on his apartment door rather loudly. He groaned, but was happy to see that his little fox was still sleeping soundly. He quietly slipped out of bed and stepped into a pair of sweats as he walked to the door.Whoever was pounding on the door had better have a damn good reason for taking him away from his mate. "What?" He snapped as he opened the door. "Sorry to wake you Alpha, but there was an attack along the southern boarder." His warrior, Brandon spoke quickly. "Shit, okay I'll be down in five minutes." He replied and shut the door, not waiting for Brandon's reply.

"Is everything okay?" Asami asked him from the bedroom doorway. "Sorry to wake you love. Their was another attack at the boarder. So I need to go take care of it." He replied after giving Asami a quick kiss. "Can I come?" He hear his mate timidly ask. "What?!" He snapped without meaning too. "To..to your office I mean." Asami quickly babbled out. "Oh, oh yes. Sorry I thought you meant to the boarder." He apologized. "Heavens no! I'm not that reckless and you know that. At least I hope you do.." Asami shrugged as he pulled on the cloths he handed him.

"I know you're not, I just wasn't thinking I guess. Oh before I forget. Emily's friends will be here this evening." He said as he placed another peck on Asami's lips. Goddess how he loved the feeling of their kisses. He also loved the feeling of his mates excitement bubbling up and seeping threw the bond. His wolf was practically clawing at the surface with the desire to mate. "Soon, but the attack at the boarder is more important at the moment." He responded to Kain's pleading. Kain grumbled a bit but even he knew that was more important. Their pack and mate's safety were their top priority.

"You ready?" He asked Asami as he finished slipping his shoes on. He smiled softly as Asami nodded showing he was ready to go. As they left his apartment the were greeted by Sam. "Any casualties?" He asked as they descended the stairs heading to his office. "No thankfully. However Mike was injured pretty badly." Sam informed him. "Will he be okay?" Asami asked nervously. "Yep he is going to be just fine. A day or two of bed rest and he'll be back on his feet." Sam reassured. "How many rogues were there?" Daemon asked as they entered the office. "Four Alpha." Frank answered before Sam could.

"Any still alive?" He asked sternly all traces of his earlier calm demeanor now gone. "Only one. Steven has him in the holding cell questioning him as we speak." Frank informed him. He snaked his arm around Asami's waist pulling him closer as a small wave of fear seeped into the bond. "Okay let Steven know I'll be there in a few minutes. Dismissed." Daemon told Frank before turning to Sam. "Sam have Tammy come over and hang out with Asami while we deal with the rogue." He said to Sam as Frank exited the office.

As soon as Tammy arrived Daemon and Sam excused themselves, but not before he placed a kiss on Asami's head. "I'll be back soon. Tammy take him downstairs and get breakfast." He said to both of them. Tammy excitedly pulled a nervous Asami from the room. Once they left he and Sam headed to the holding cells in the basement to deal with the rogue. Two attacks back to back like this was not normal and himself and Sam were going to get to the bottom of this one way or another.

~ Asami's POV~

Asami's stumbled slightly as the she-wolf excitedly pulled him out of the office. His nerves were a bit of a mess from everything that was going on. Now the whole attack thing he was making things even more overwhelming. He was brought out of his thoughts when Tammy stopped suddenly, causing him to walk into her back. "Sorry!" He squeaked. "Its my fault for stopping suddenly so no worries." She smiled at him. Suddenly a group of pups came barreling out of the kitchen answering the question he was about to ask.
