Hobi thought about how there is never really much rhyme nor reason when goblins play with the fate of humans. Sadly enough, most of the reason they do so is out of amusement. The next chapter showed how the goblins were pleased with the ideas that Emiko and Hopi will give them something to talk about for years. Emiko wished for what Hopi's heart desires. The following caption read: Interestingly enough, oftentimes, humans think they know what it is. Truly, the boy felt what is in his heart was his dreams, but it was not so.
The story continued with the two goblins waving their hands and blessing Emiko and Hopi. They were curious to see how things will play out as they watched the couple leave the garden. The next panel showed Emiko and Hopi leaving and the caption read: They could hear their heartbeats quicken in pace as they stole glances at each other. The seeds of love were planted, they will grow in their hearts.
Huh, Hobi thought to himself. If put in the same situation, he wondered if he liked the idea altogether. As anticipated the difference between what was in Hopi's heart and what was in his mind set them towards two different paths. While either led to his happiness, why did it have to be one or the other?
The next pages showed the passing of time. Emiko and Hopi kept their friendship until Hopi eventually asked her out on a date. Hopi smiled at the full-page picture of Hopi holding out a bouquet of flowers to Emiko, the entire panel was in black and white except for the red behind his ears. Cute, Hobi chuckled.
He liked that they did not fall in love at first sight. He always felt that was unreal. He likes that they were friends first and that they got to know each other well. He liked that the story was built up into small things where despite their strengths and weaknesses, their love grew over time.
In his opinion, Love is very tender and as they say, only fools rush in. It drums so many feelings that it consumes and destroys with the same intensity. It was something he will never take lightly.
Jin found Hobi smiling as he read the book. He had his back propped on a couple of throw pillows and his legs were crossed. "Your ramen got cold." Jin pointed out and jumped into the little space between Hobi and the backrest of the couch.
"Yaa! Jin-hyung! We won't fit." Hobi complained.
"We fit fine. Where are you in the book?" Jin groaned as he squirmed to free his trapped arm. He rested his head on Hobi's shoulder as he spied where he was.
"I like this part." Hobi smiled and pointed to a panel. "They are already a little older here. They moved in together and she is killing a spider for him. I like that she is not squeamish."
Jin smiled, "Yes, that was cute."
"I like that she takes care of him." Hobi sighed.
"Yes, and even if he is not all muscle and masculinity, he is the only man for her."
"This is how ships start," Namjun said walking in on the two hyungs practically snuggling together. Yoongi came in after him and sat on his spot at the other end of the sofa. He tickled Hobi and Jin's feet so they would move them out of the way.
"What part are you in?" Namjun asked. He sat on the floor with legs stretched out in front of him and propped himself on his hands.
"He's at the part where they moved in together and she saved him from the spider." Jin offered.
Namjun and Yoongi smiled and nodded.
"How are you liking it so far?" It was Yoongi's turn to ask.
Hobi lowered the book to his chest and thought for a moment. "I love that they are happy together, but I keep on thinking about the trade-off. It's a little unfair, don't you think? His wish was very good!"
"That's not what Confucianism is about. There's no trade-off. Confucianism believes that a person is born with their destiny pre-determined. So, if he was meant to do everything he wished for, it was going to happen regardless. The goblins were kind. Destiny is inevitable, but whatever your heart desires, whatever will make you happy- that is not as guaranteed." When he finished his long-winded explanation, Yoongi looked up and saw everyone was feigning sleep, as usual.
"Neoneun modu babo ya!!" he cursed, calling them all out as jerks. They all started laughing.
"But seriously though, I like the domesticity. It's nice, the little things they do for each other." Namjun nodded. "Before JK met Nira, I didn't think that was possible for any of us right now and that's really got me thinking a lot."
Hobi giggled and shyly cleared his throat when he noticed everyone was staring at him. "He leaves her cute love letters all over the house. I do that too." He explained. They all just nodded and smiled politely. Being the last to read was no fun. He cleared his throat again and went back to the book.
"Nira and JK are really cute." Yoongi smiled fondly. "The other day, right? I was about to use the bathtub, and I ran into JK's room because I heard all this shouting, No! Stop! Stop! It was Jeongguk who was shouting. You betrayed me! So, I come running, What? What's happening here? I asked. I was so worried. Why are you fighting? It was so dark, and I turned on the light and I find these kids, right?"
"Yoongi-yah," Jin stopped him, "You can't just run into JK's room anymore, especially if Nira's there." His eyes got big waiting for Yoongi to get his point.
"Ah." Yoongi nodded in realization.
"Anyway, so what happened?" Jin asked.
"Right. So it turns out, the two were playing Overwatch. JK was running around keeping Nira behind him so she wouldn't get shot, but I think she got pissed off because she couldn't play the game properly, so she started shooting him out of the way."
The hyungs started laughing. Even Hobi turned from the book to listen to the story. "Ahh.." Yoongie sighed shaking his head. "That brat met his match."
"Aww..do you miss having a girlfriend, Yoongi-hyung?" Hobi smiled at him softly.
Yoongi was looking far. "Ye. I guess I do, but what are the chances a girl will walk into the studio, right?"
"How about you?" Jin asked, play punching Hobi on the stomach.
"Yaa!" he squeaked. "I'll be honest, in the beginning, I put the idea aside like all of you. Remember when we talked about this before? Even if we got girlfriends, We didn't think it would have been fair." The members nodded in agreement. "Now, I guess it's a possibility."
"It is possible." Namjun smiled before turning to ask Jin. "Hyung, how about you?"
"Me? I don't know" Jin shrugged and sighed dramatically, "No one takes me seriously."
The boys frowned. "Hyung." They said in unison.
Jin winked. "When I fall in love, it will be just like in the movies." He told them.
On the other side of the wall in the dining area, the maknaes were huddled over Jimin's phone. They were reading up on Soswaewon. Lying on the table was Taehyung's phone and a screenshot of Hobi dancing with Neuron, his former dance team before debuting with the Bangtan boys. His hair was flattened and swept sideways across his face covering one eye dramatically like an anime caricature. Not far from his was Jeongguk's whose phone had an art panel of Emiko and Hopi with the same hairstyle.
