Swara- Thank you for bringing Uttara with you.
Swara- Sorry, I couldn't talk to you.You didn't need to mention, either, that's breaking friendship code.
And you are always welcome.
Goodnight.
Swara- Good night.
When Swara smiled like that, Ragini almost forgot the mangalsutra in the drawer of their dressing table. Pulling the cover over Swara, she moved to the window unable to sleep. She had been struggling with sleeping. It wouldn't surprise her, if she spent the whole night awake.
The stars accompanied her in the night, and birds in the early morning. Ragini walked downstairs with a lazy stretch to start with the preparations in the kitchen. Maa was the next to join her, and Dadi last. No one ate anything if she prepared it, so in the end Ragini resorted to assist her Maa. It went the same way that morning as well.
She couldn't stay around Dadi for long while, her taunts too harsh to get over from and if Swara caught her... Ragini instead went upstairs to wake up her sister, but she found Swara on her phone. At her sight, she offered Ragini a quick apology.
Shaking her head, Ragini took out her clothes from the cupboard as the sound of running water reached her. Swara's ringtone forced her to reach out for her phone, tears cascaded down her cheeks. The call disconnected in a while, Ragini kept the phone down and wiping her tears moved to the bathroom door.
Lakshya tried her number once more, the oxygen filled his lungs when she answered, "Hello?"
"Hello Swara, it's Lucky."
She hummed, "I have your number."
"Swara I wanted to say," Lakshya paused unable to speak, he fumbled, "actually, I-I wanted to ask if-"
Swara sighed, the unshed tears of Ragini who failed in her attempt to hide them a bit too vivid, "Please hurry, if you have something to say. I don't have the whole day for you."
You agreed to have the whole life by my side... Lakshya agreed, "Yes, Swara I know that. I only want your two minutes. I know you don't remember anyone beside Sanskar Bhai, but I want to try and remind you... I love you, I love you a lot."
"Yet, you couldn't wait for me."
A single statement knocked all the air out of his lungs, Lakshya understood he failed in making a favourable first impression on her, yet again. He prepared himself for the long period of persuasion, "I know I made a mistake, that's why I want to apologise to you. I want to court you again, and persuade you to give us a chance. I am sorry for not trusting you, Swara I am."
Swara shook her head which was beginning to hurt, "You are married to my sister as of now, and marital relations aren't a joke. Maybe, you won't understand it but my sister is married to you, and she's suffering because of your foolishness."
"You don't know what happened, such circumstances were created by your dear sister that I had to marry her," how badly, Lakshya wanted to yell at Ragini for her schemes, at himself for falling into those.
She furrowed her brows while wearing the bracelet to match with her pink dress, "Why would Ragini do that? She can't do such a thing."
He huffed, "I used to think so myself, but your dear sister can apparently go to any extent... She says she loves me, I don't think so. How could she when-"
Swara moved the phone away from her ear to narrow her eyes at the name displaying on the phone. Her sister's silent plight screened in Swara's mind making her respond, "She loves you, and you are married to her and still you are saying I love you to me. What sort of person are you Mr Lakshya Maheshwari? What makes you think it's fine to say these words to me?"
