Untamed Deaths (short story (kind of???))

12: XiChen arrives

From here on, we now call the people by there first names, some don't even have that other name, like WangJi, WuXian and so on.

Just an insight to what Ying and Zhan think of their partner.

The story continues.

A few minutes after the phone call XiChen and Cheng came racing in only to stop when they didn't even think of moving apart.

'By any chance, did you have a dream last night about Cloud Recesses, Demonic Cultivation .... The four of us ...'

'So it really was a past life?' Ying said as he put his tablet down and wrapped his arms around Zhan and trembled. For some reason, somewhere in his heart, there had been hope that it was just a dream and they didn't actually die like that.

'It's alright Ying; my uncle is not even alive any more.'

'Um.... Then if you really have remembered our last lives, I need to confess something to the pair of you.' XiChen bowed his head, worried what the three of them would think of him when they found out the truth. 'I first want to say I'm so sorry I didn't get back fast enough to stop uncle killing the pair of you ... you were both dead ... so I ...'

'You removed his head. I know XiChen, I was still alive long enough to see that happen as the pair of you raced in.'

'The truth was ... Cheng and I might have arrived in time to stop your deaths but ... we ...'

'It's alright. I would not have liked to live with seeing the pair of you naked or close to it in the cave.' Ying chuckled at the blushes from the pair and the chest of Zhan rumbled with his laughter.

'How ... when did you find out?'

'About a week before you left on your ... night hunting trip with Cheng and the Jiang juniors, I accidentally saw the pair of you kissing. I mean seriously you two, if you were trying to keep it a secret, you shouldn't have been kissing under a tree that we visit almost every day.' Ying grinned. 'I did tell Zhan and he was happy for the pair of you ... and even if you had returned in time, I'm sure he would have tried again and again ...'

'There is more and it's about this life ... he was never agreeable with WangJi and I being gay and the night he died in this life, he on the roof and I went to talk to him. He didn't know I was there and was mumbling something about being able to stop it happening in this life ... it took me a very short time to realise he had remembered his past life. I'm not sure if he remembered I killed him in that life as his back was to us as we entered the cave .... But the night he died in this life, we were talking ... arguing on the roof about times changing and we were allowed to be with whom ever we loved, and he said he would again do anything to stop the pair of you being together. He informed me that he had been keeping an eye on Ying for most of his life. I don't know how he knew were you were or who he had watching you. Any time the pair of you had any chance to meet, he had Zhan go oversees to some company for meetings. The day you finally met and fell in love, the day he died ... he was furious and told me he would put a stop to it. He took out his phone and went to call someone; I asked who he could call at that time of night. He told me he knew a few members of a criminal organization who owed him favours. He was going to have one of them kill Ying ... I ripped bloody the phone from his hand and threw it down the gap between the two buildings and heard it hit the ground ... then he went to attack me ... we ... I can't say it was a fight as I dodged his every attempt to attack. I screamed at him that even Chang and I were together in our last lives and again in this lifetime. I should not have told him, as he really lost it when he heard that ...' XiChen wiped the tears that fell only to feel Cheng wrap his arm around his shoulder. 'The last attack from him ... I stepped out the way and he slipped and fell .... The truth is ... I didn't even think of trying to save him ... he would have killed my brother and his lover again ... I couldn't let that happen again!' by the end XiChen was almost yelling. 'I failed you both in our last lives .... I will not fail this time!'

'XiChen ... I'm sorry you had to be placed in that same position yet again. No one should be forced to experience that once let alone twice.' Ying reached over and went to pat XiChen on the head but just before he made contact, he found himself bound tightly in Zhan's arms.

They were about to keep talking but a small soft voice came from the doorway.

'Father Zhan, Mother Ying what is Uncle XiChen upset about ... did you do something to him.'

Okay, I was going to ask if you know who was at the door listening but it is way too obvious who it is.

When taking these pictures, Wei Ying suddenly became serious, look at his eyes. he is telling Lan Zhan to take his hand off his lap while they are in public ................. 

Lan Zhan just smiles innocently ...................... his eyes say 'not going to happen'

Who would have thought that Wei Ying would be more serious than Lan Zhan???????
