*** WARNING ..... there is unwarranted deaths at the end of this chapter ..... I'm so sorry but blame QiRen and his broken mind .... okay so I broke it for him ..... still, it was his sword that took the lives.

Wei Ying moved as he woke in a cold and hard bed. 'Lan Zhan ... come back to bed ...' as he spoke he notices an awful taste on his tongue so went to reach to the cup of water on the bed side table only to freeze as a voice of ice came to him.

QiRen stood up and walked from the cave the moment he knew Wei WuXian was awake. 'He will never be here.' He watched from outside as Wei WuXian jumped from the bed. 'You will be kept here until my nephew is wed and their first child is born. After that, you will be no one and nothing to WangJi as it always should have been.'

'Master Lan ...' Wei Ying ran for the entrance only to be stopped by a solid barrier and thrown backwards with force. He tired a talisman that he used to break the gateway barrier but it faded and did nothing, he tried so many things only to have the same result. It was beyond his powers to get through this barrier. Every time he tried something, he was thrown away from the barrier with a painful attack of the talismans.

The final time, he coughed up blood. Whether it was his golden core or Demonic Cultivation, dark or light, yin or yang, he had no way to get out of this cave. He lifted himself up and glared at the man outside the barrier. 'This means nothing! Lan Zhan will come looking for me when he finds me gone.'

'Hmmm' QiRen looked at Wei WuXian and thought to himself Maybe it will just take some time for the potion to work, but if it does not work ... I have him locked away so it doesn't really matter. Then le smiled icily at the man in the cave. 'I have his bride and father-in-law already here waiting. They will be wedded in just a few days at most. Just stay here and when I feel I can trust my nephew to be a decent man again, I will release you.'

Wei Ying scoffed at the arrogant man for whom he now held no respect at all. 'So which is it, after the first child is born or when you finally trust him to be your sweet innocent little boy again, it will never happen ... other than in your delusional mind?' Wei Ying sneered at the man who stood outside the barrier glaring at him. 'He belongs to me and I belong to him and not even you can stop that.'

'I know all he needs is a strong hand and your absence for him to be honourable again and abide by the rules I set forth, but ... if I were you ... I would prepare for a long stay. WangJi has never been told of this cave so even if he looks, he will never find it.' He lied only because he wanted to see hope begin to fade from Wei Ying's eyes, and it did. 'He will never find you.'

'Lan QiRen ... do you honestly think that Lan Zhan and Lan XiChen will agree to this whole thing? Imprisoning an innocent man just because of .....' he was cut off.

'They have no choice!' QiRen almost screamed at him before calming himself and continuing as he stroked his quivering beard. 'I have already had everything of yours removed from his home and placed in the cave with you. He will just believe me when I tell him you left .... But you gave me a message for him, you told me to tell him to do what is right.'

'I will not allow you to do this.' He made a message butterfly, his way, and sent if off .... Only to have it explode into nothing when it hit the barrier.

'You think I didn't already think of that.' his smile grew just that little bit. 'That is even one part of these talismans that I find entertaining ... for the length of time you will stay here.'

'No!!!!! You can't do this.' He threw himself physically at the barrier in his desperation, only to fly backwards to the cave wall. He felt pain run through his body only to fall to the large rocks on the floor of the cave. His heart ached so badly he lay there and wept for the pain. 'Lan Zhan .... Remember our promise.' He slowly crawled over to the hard bed and climbed on. 'I trust you Lan Zhan ... remember our promise and look hard ... just don't you dare marry that woman.' He wept hard even though he tried desperately to stop ... but the thought of loosing his husband to some woman just because of Lan QiRen .... It was too much to bear.

'Don't worry Wei WuXian; I have left your little friend over there for you to play with. Being a demonic cultivator you can easily still bring back the dead and I will never again have to see .... Well, it's better this way.' QiRen smiled as he turned and walked away.

At those words, Wei Ying gathered his courage and rose to his feet and for the first time noted the blood on soaked into the sand. He had even walked through it without noticing it ... the vines and talismans at the entrance was also covered in blood .... He made his eyes trail the blood until he found who Master Lan had killed.

That moment seemed to last an eternity ... he pictured everyone he loved and cared about, praying it was not them ... but who did he kill .....

'NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' He roared with all his might as he hurried over and picked up one of the small white furred bunnies that was now drenched in blood and held it gently to his chest. 'Why .... Why kill the rabbits ... he has lost his mind. Lan Zhan .... He killed our bunnies ....'

For a long time Wei Ying dug wholes and buried each single bunny in their own grave. When he finished, he picked some stones and placed one on each bunny grave. Twenty three graves ... Master Lan had found and killed each and every rabbit. There was a small trail of water that trickled along the front of the cave, just inside the barrier, so he went and washed his hands in the freezing water then went back to the bed, if it could even be called that, it was just a mattress on planks, then lay there and wept. He wept for him and Lan Zhan and he wept for the bunnies. The only blessing was Little Apple was in town with Wen Ning, so he lived.

Wei Ying suddenly thought of SiZhui ... no, Lan QiRen would never hurt him ..... right...... the man had not gone that far yet ......

There were no end to the tears as he honestly thought there was no way his husband could ever find him. He dreaded that SiZhui would be a target of QiRen. He pictured spending the rest of his life in this cave as he was sure Lan QiRen would not easily let him go.
