Welcome to Football Girl! I'll keep this short, but this is my first attempt at a full novel. I might put it into the Watty's later?!? We'll see how well I do at updating it regularly first... Everything else will not be put on hold while I write this. Hope you enjoy!

Chapter 1: Whatever Godzilla
Why the hell was I here again?
"But honestly, what is this?" I asked my friend Jessie.
"What do you mean? It's a football tryout, you know that," she replied.
I rolled my eyes. We were sitting just outside the field lines on a nice spot of grass we found. Jessie rolled over onto her stomach, staring at the high school boys huddled together to do the school chant. Why they were doing the cheer at a tryout, would be a question i could never answer.
"C'mon Megan. I know you're not exactly a football enthusiast, but at least look somewhat interested! We're here for my brother and the muscles, just remember that!"
I rolled my eyes again. Jessie's older brother is a senior at Copper Cove High School and was hoping he was going to be captain of the team this year. He had played on the Coyotes Football team for all three years and the coach thought highly of him. He wanted a family member to record him being declared captain of the team, so Jessie was sent to tag along. The actual "captain ceremony" was on the third tryout, but Jessie insisted on coming to all three. Being her best friend of course, I was dragged along with the persuading words of, "They'll be hot, I promise," and "Plenty of muscles for you to look at!" And of course her final words, "Don't worry, it'll be just like soccer!"
Well let me tell you for a fact that it is not like soccer. I should know, I've played since I was four. Just because soccer is called football pretty much everywhere except North America, does not make it the same thing. In football, if you tackle someone it's part of the game. In soccer, if you tackle someone you get carded by the referee and lose a chance at playing. In football you run with the ball in your hands. In soccer, not so much. In football, the one star player can go and beat his head into someone and get praised. Soccer you have to work on teamwork and controlling the ball much more. same thing? I think not. Football is just a bunch of annoying boys shoving their heads into each other while pretending they are cool and super athletic. Ew.
Returning my attention to the field, I noticed the incredible lack of muscles. Only a few returning football boys had defined muscles, the rest of the team was scrawn freshmen who were already sweating. All they had done was a warmup jog and it wasn't even hot out today! Ew. They weren't going to survive this tryout.
I turned to complain to Jessie about why lying to your best friend's face is wrong and how I really didn't want to be there, but I decided to be the better person and kept my lips shut. Turning back to face the field, I saw the coach stomping towards us, a glare on his face. The tryouties were either frozen behind him or whispering to their friends. Jessie's brother gave us a slight smirk.
As the coach got closer, I stood up, urging Jessie to follow suit. By the time Jessie had finally stood up, the coach was already peering down at us.
"And what do you ladies think you're doing here on our field this lovely afternoon?" the 6"7 gorilla coach asked us.
Jessie was shaking slightly, probably out of fear, leaving me to answer his question.
"We were just watching the football tryouts," I stated, startled by the harsh tone of my voice I added, "sir."
