Draco's POV
Tears streamed down my face as I continued to hold onto Kamrynn as she went from kicking and screaming to grasping my arms tightly and sobbing uncontrollably. I stared into the flames as she continued to hold onto me. Crabbe may not have been the smartest bloke, but he was my friend. He had always been there for me. I may not have treated him right most of our lives, but he was a stable force in my life. And Astoria, she barely knew me, but she lived her life for me, for Courtney. There was no better person than her.
There was great, giant bangs and flashes of light from outside the castle. The battle was still raging on. I slowly let go of Kamrynn, and she turned to face me. She reached up and pulled me into a hug. That tight hug put back some pieces back into place. It helped me to regain my focus on what was actually happening.
"What's the next move?" Micah asked as he and Mitch approached us.
I let go of Kamrynn and looked around. "I was gonna follow Potter, but it appears that he has left already. So, let's go down to the Great Hall and see if we can find Courtney."
"Are you sure that's what we need to do?" Kamrynn asked.
I nodded. "I'm sure. I need to make sure that Courtney is okay."
She rolled her eyes. "Courtney can take care of herself. Anyway, Helena is with her, so she's already protected. You don't need to go near her."
"What is Helena doing with her?" I asked, trying my best not to yell at her.
"That woman is almost as dangerous as Bellatrix," Mitch added.
Kamrynn shook her head. "When Helena left the death eaters, she went to the Order along with Beverly and Narcissa."
"My mother?" I asked, my heart skipping a beat. "My mother is apart of the Order?"
She nodded. "However, I don't think that we should just sit here. The battle is going on still, and unfortunately, there's nothing left for us to do here."
"Back to the question," Micah urged, "what next?"
I bit my lip. Kam was right about us needing to move. We were sitting ducks, and quite frankly, I was surprised that we hadn't been found yet. Potter had the right idea to move right away, but fortunately, he didn't just have one -two- of his friends die in front of him. We needed that moment.
"Kam," I said, getting her attention because she was starting to pay attention to something else. "You go down to the Great Hall and find Courtney."
"Fuck no," she said. "Courtney is my best mate and sister, but she has a dangerous bitch on her side to protect her. I need to be here to make sure you make it. You are the one that is prophesied to die. You need more protection than her. Try again."
Micah laughed. "You don't think we can protect him?"
She looked him up and down. "What have you done so far in this battle? Nothing besides getting saved. He needs me more than you."
"You little-"
"Okay, so Kamrynn is coming with us," Mitch said, interrupting his brother.
"I don't think she should because if I need to stay alive, then I need to report back to the death eaters, back to You-Know-Who," I sighed. "Kamrynn, please go find Courtney."
"Fuck that," she shook her head. "I do agree that you need to report where ever the death eaters are, and I will watch from afar. If anything should happen, I will intervene."
"You can't be by yourself," I shook my head. "How about, I hide with you. Micah and Mitch will rejoin the death eaters. I bet I'm already in a great deal of trouble if any of the other death eaters have said anything."
"Anything about what?" Micah shook his head. "They saw us follow Amycus for a tour and then up to Ravenclaw tower. The only people who could speak about you turning so far is the Carrows, and you saw McGonagall take them."
"I actually have changed my mind," Kam started as we all turned and looked at her. "I don't think it's a good idea for Draco to rejoin the death eaters. I think he needs to stay away from both sides, so you two will rejoin the death eaters, and we will watch from afar."
"How will you hide? The death eaters will be able to sense you," Mitch said, concerned.
Kam and I exchanged looks. He had a point. Perhaps I should've paid more attention in Charms or Defense Against the Dark Arts. I looked to Micah. Other than Courtney, he was the most intelligent person I knew.
He nodded. "You'll use the Fidelius Charm. It can't make you invisible, but it will make the area around you a secret. Too bad you can't use Harry Potter's invisibility cloak."
"I know how to use the charm," Kam said.
"Since everything's settled," I said, "then we better move. I believe he's in the Forbidden Forest."
The four of us ran down the six flight of stairs before there was a huge bang and the final stair case gave out under us. I felt Kamrynn grab onto me as the rubble crashed down around us. I grabbed my wand and put a shield around us as we fell. When we hit the ground, we broke apart and I rolled away from her. I felt some of the rubble hit me in the face as the wind was knocked out of me. I got up as soon as I could and looked around. Mitch and Micah were getting up, but i didn't see Kamrynn. I saw Micah run over to some falling rocks and pulled her out of the debris.
She opened her eyes and saw that Micah was the one that had a hold of her. She shook him off of her. "Get your hands off of me," she demanded.
"Now, you see that I can't protect Draco because I am too busy saving you?" he said, as she walked off.
"Do you want a medal or something?" she scoffed. "Let's get going."
Micah and Mitch separated from us right away. An Order member came from inside the castle, shooting spells down at me. Kamrynn turned around and waved both her arms in the air. The Order member stopped once they saw who it was. Then they turned around and went back into the castle. Kam then grabbed my hand and led me into the forest. I then took the lead since I was drawn to where the meeting would be. Once I could see the circle in sight, we ducked down. Kam performed the charm to hide us. I saw one of the men turn to look towards us, but once the spell had been performed, he turned away. We were in the clear, so far anyway.
"So, that's You-Know-Who?" Kam said as she pointed up to Voldemort.
I nodded. "And that's my father next to him."
"He looks like he's been used as a punching bag," she grimaced. "Did he ever punish you like that?"
I shook my head. "Fortunately, he did not. I bet he wanted to though."
"So, what did Blaise do?" she asked softly.
"He-" that's when I saw Fenrir Greyback leading in a line of women. "Lila."
"Who the fuck is Lila?"
I swallowed hard. "She's not supposed to be here. She's supposed to be at my manor and protected."
"Why would she need protected?"
I shushed her as Voldemort stood and made his way over to the line. Lila, Pansy, Millicent, and Diana were all were in that line with a few other women. He seemed to smile down at all of them. I saw Micah and Mitch walk into the area with worried looks on their faces as well.
"It is time for the ceremony!" Voldemort exclaimed.
