Chapter Three

I think I had fallen asleep, because all of a sudden I felt a vibration against my calf, where my phone was. My body was no longer numb, I could feel every inch of my body aching.

My shirt was partially damp still, but I didn't understand why it was wet to begin with. I opened my mouth to let out a moan of pain.

There was no one coming for me, and I knew it. But I needed help.

If this was all karma for cutting off Suzy's ponytail in the third grade, then I was truly sorry... Otherwise I didn't deserve this.

Getting my phone from my sock would be a major challenge, and I wasn't sure I wanted to cross that bridge.

I could call for help, but it would probably come out like muffled voices, and texting would be just as worst. One of my arms were crushed underneath me, and the other one was facing my feet.

My phone was just a few inches away from my left hand.

What am I gonna do, I thought.

I felt broken in every way possible.

The least I could do was try... And if it doesn't work out, I could always give up, and lay here to die.

I slowly pushed my heavy lids -that seemed to sting- open.

The little window over the shower was the only thing I could see; It must of been about 6 o'clock or something, because it wasn't as light, and it wasn't as dark...

I forced myself to hike my leg upward toward my left hand. It was harder than a baby trying to walk for the first time. Pain struck up and down my body all because of one sudden movement.

I bit my tongue so I wouldn't let out any whimpers -not that it would've mattered, no one could hear me- and pushed my hand towards my phone regardless all the pain.

I could of sworn a tear rolled down my cheek when I felt the gel texture of my pink iPhone case under my finger tips. Two of my fragile fingers slowly pulled it out of my sock. The phone felt 50 pounds heavier, causing it to fall out of my hand, and slid in front of my face.

Usually I could have whined because my phone fell, but I was in no condition to care... It wasn't as far from the ground to do much damage anyways.

It was a good thing that I had set my phone to stay lit up for a long time when receiving notifications, so I saw exactly where my phone was through the darkness.

I balanced the phone between my trembling fingers. The screen was bright, making me squint.

(1) email from Harry Styles

I didn't feel like going through the process of pushing ignore, confirming that I ignored the email, and exiting that so I could call someone. The process was short, but I didn't have the strength in me to do all that. My voice would come out muffled over the phone anyway.

So I simply clicked 'Open.'

My eyes moved swiftly across the words of his email. The words went through one ear and came out the other. By the time I had finished reading his email, I didn't have the slightest idea of what I had read.

Although I strongly did not want to reply, I was in need of his help.
