Chapter 19

CARLYS POV
We rushed to the hospital and I followed Abbi in but one of the nurses stopped me. "I'm sorry you can't go further." She said. "But I need to. Abbi needs me!" I wailed. "I'm sorry. When she is in a better condition that is when you can see her." The nurse stated. "Okay." I sniffled. I went to go sit in the waiting area. A few minutes later, Calum came in and ran toward me. "I saw you guys on the news. Are you ok?" Calum asked, his eyebrows furrowed with worry. "Yes, I'm fine. I'm so scared for Abbi." I sniffled. "She will be okay. I promise." Calum hugged me. I looked out with window and spotted something that was kind of suspicious. "Hey, is that your car?" I pointed to the wrecked car outside the hospital. It looked a lot like the car that hit Abbi. "No, that's not my car." Calum said. "Hey,I'm hungry. Do you want to go the the food court to get something?" Calum asked. "Sure. I'm actually really hungry." We walked to the cafeteria and I got pizza and chocolate milk and Calum got a salad and a soda. We sat down and ate our food. We made small talk, but there was a few things bugging me. Who would do something like this to Abbi? When the car hit Abbi, it kept on driving. Maybe it was just a random person. I went to Abbi's room to see if she was awake. I knocked on Abbi's door. "Come in." The nurse said. I walked in and there was Abbi. Cuts and Bruises all over her and she was hooked up with a bunch of tubes. I cried when I saw her. I sat down and held her hand. "We will get through this together. I can't lose my best friend." I whispered. There was a knock on the door and my friends came in. Anna hugged me. "Are you holding up ok?" Nina asked. "I guess." I mumbled. "Don't worry we will get through this together." Courtney said. We all had a group hug and went outside. I saw Calum and gave him a hug and a kiss. "I love you and thank you for everything." I said to Calum. "Your welcome. I love you and I will do anything for you." Calum replied. We kissed and hugged for a little bit. We went to the waiting room and we listened to music together. I was interrupted by someone tapping on my shoulder. I looked up to see that it was Chloe Loveheart. I took out my headphones. "What?" I said rudely. Chloe stepped back. "I'm sorry to bother you. I saw what happened and I rushed over here. Is everyone ok?" "Does it look like everyone's okay? My best friend got hit by a car." I snapped. "Okay we need to talk. I just want to make some things clear with you." Chloe replied. "Hold on," I tapped Calum's shoulder, he was listening to his music and didn't notice that Chloe was here. "Yes?" Calum asked. "I'm going to have a talk with Chloe and I will be right back, okay?" "Okay babe." Calum replied. He kissed me on the cheek and we went to the cafeteria to sit down. Chloe cleared her throat. "When we were at the office, I saw that you kept on giving me dirty looks. What was that for?" "Well isn't it obvious? You were hitting on my boyfriend. Everyone knows that Calum and I are dating." I replied. "I was starstruck. Look, you are not the only one that has a crush on Calum, ok? First, I didn't know that you were dating Calum. After you left, I looked on some websites to find that it was true. I came here to apologize for hitting on your boyfriend. I didn't know. Honestly. But my crush in Calum was just a little celebrity crush. I understand now that he is taken and I was also wondering if we could start over and be friends." I paused. "Ok, I accept your apology. I guess I was a little intimidated by you." "By me? Why?" Chloe asked. "Because you are so pretty and nice. I looked you up on YouTube and you are an awesome singer. I thought I would have to compete to keep Calum as my boyfriend." "Well you don't have to anymore. Friends?" Chloe stuck out her hand. "Friends." I replied, shaking her hand. "Good. Now we got that out of the way, there's something else I needed to tell you." She paused. "Yea?" I asked. "Since I saw the accident, I saw who the driver was." "Who? I was wondering who it was because for some reason I thought the car accident was on purpose." Chloe gulped. "I saw Calum in the drivers seat. I think Calum hit Abbi with his car."
