Abbi's POV (still in flashback)

Calum and I walked over to his house. Turns out he lives next door! It was a really nice house. It was big.
We walked through the front door, and I gasped. This was nothing like home. This was a mansion compared to my house. There was a huge flat screen TV in the family room and the couch was huge!
"Woah you have a nice house!" I say to Calum. "Thanks, the house that you are living in is a really nice house. So are you living alone?" Calum asks. "Um, yeah." I say to him. One part of me is saying "Abbi don't tell him personal stuff you just met him!" The other part is saying, "Why not? He seems like a cool guy."
He must've sense what I was feeling so he quickly changed the subject. "So, what interested you to come to Australia?" "Well, instead of going to college, I asked my parents if I could visit Australia. They said if I could pay for everything, they would let me go. I worked so many jobs it was hard to keep count. Finally, I got money and moved here. I'm going to try to get a job and live here the rest of my life. I wanted a fresh start in a new place."
Calum smiles at me. "Well, I'm glad you came to Australia. I have a feeling we are going to get really close."
"Well I should probably go unpack. It was nice meeting you!" I say cheerily to Calum. I waved to him and walked back to my not-so big house.
It was nice, but not as nice as Calum's. I went in and I first went to my room to unpack and decorate. I brought the boxes that were for my room and went upstairs. Since this was MY house, I finally get the big room. It was nice to have a house all to myself. No more nagging parents and annoying sisters. I was so happy that I made the decision to move here. I went inside my new room and put the boxes down. I sat down and opened up the box labeled "pictures" The first one I saw was a group picture of my friends and I at our graduation. I felt myself smiling. It was a candid of my friend group. Carly, Anna, Nina, Ella, Courtney, Kaitlyn, Rebecca. And Molly. I loved them so much. I'm so lucky to have them as friends. As I looked at the pictures, I realized I had a really good group of friends. But sadly, we all parted our ways to go to college. I still try to keep in touch with them, but it's been hard. But I'm hopeful that I will make new friends here in Australia. Calum seems like a nice guy. Speaking of Calum, I wonder what he was doing right now. I don't want to seem desperate. He probably already forgotten about me. Then, the doorbell rings. "I wonder who that is." I said out loud. I wasn't expecting anyone. I went and opened the door and Calum was there. "Hey!" Calum said cheerfully. "Hi!" I replied back. "So since you are new here, I was wondering if you want me to show you around and maybe grab dinner?" Calum asked. I looked at my phone. Dang, it's already 5:00. "Uh, sure, but I have to get freshened up. I'll be ready in 5 minutes." I said. I ran upstairs and threw on a pink tank top and a flowery black skirt. I put my hair into a high ponytail and grabbed my fringe black purse. I went to the bathroom to put on a little bit of makeup. I sprayed on my favorite perfume and ran downstairs. Obviously, Calum was still there. He looked up from his phone and stared at me. "What? Is there something on my face?" I asked, feeling my face redden. "What? Oh no it's just you look beautiful." Calum smiled. "Oh, um thanks!" I replied. We walked out of my house and I locked it. "So, where do you want to go?" I asked. "Well, there is this really good Mexican place down the street that's a good walking distance. You want to go?" Calum asked. "Sure! I'm always in the mood to eat Mexican!" I replied. We started walking down the street in silence."Oh," I said, " I just realized I know nothing about you!" "Oh yeah," Calum laughed. "Well I'm Calum Hood, well you already know that, I'm 18, and I love playing soccer and hanging with my friends! I play the bass guitar with my friends, Michael, Luke, and Ashton for fun ." "Wow, that's cool! I've always wanted to be in a band!" I said in awe. "Really? Do you play an instrument?" Calum asked. "Oh, well I can't really be in a band because I'm a dancer." I paused and realized something. "That's it! I'll go to a dance school in Australia!" I exclaimed. "That's a great idea! Here since we are at the restaurant already, how about we eat and talk, and then come back to my place and research about schools in this area. Does that sound good?" Calum suggested. "Really?! Oh thank you!" I hugged Calum and kissed his cheek without even thinking. "Oh! Uh...." I stammered. I felt my cheeks heat up. Gosh this was so embarrassing! Calum laughed. "It's okay. I know you did that as a thank you." I laughed too. Calum was right. I kissed him as a thank you. Right?
