The three stepped off of the elevator. Jay glanced around at the eerily silent room, and was the first to start down the stairs. Turned down the hallway immediately. The quicker they got Henry, the faster they could leave.

None of them wanted to be there longer than they had to.

Tommy ran down the hall and wrapped his arms around the cows neck, cuddling his face into the fluffy fur there.

"Hi bud." He whispered. The cow mooed and Tommy laughed.

He wrapped a lead around the animals neck, and Jay did the same with Friend. Might as well get him out of there too.

They carefully led the animals out of the vault and back towards home.

"This is a good day." Tommy said softly, petting Henry's head.

"Yeah." Jay nodded.

Ranboo walked silently nearby, glancing between the two siblings.

"Thank you for including me, Tommy." Ranboo said quietly after a while.

"Yeah, big man. I better get used to you, huh?" He said. "Since you're married to my best friend and all."

"Yeah. Sorry for not telling you that, by the way."

"That's okay. You were busy thinking I was dead, so..." Tommy trailed off.

It was quiet for a long time after that.

Once back at home, with Henry safely in a new pen, they decided it was about time to have a family meal. They hadn't had one since L'Manburg, so might as well.

They all agreed to meet in Snowchester, and soon the whole Maddox family was taking up space in one of the houses.

Techno, Tommy, Tubbo, Jay, Ranboo, and Michael all sat around a table, silently eating.

"So, how did this all happen?" Techno asked, breaking the silence. He pointed his fork between Tubbo, Ranboo, and Michael.

"Well, we got married originally for tax reasons." Tubbo started. "And then we found Michael all stranded and so we adopted him. And then... yeah, that's about it."

Ranboo nodded from his position next to Tubbo. He looked a little cramped, his long legs not quite fitting all the way under the table.

Michael was seated between them, on a little chair they had set up for him. He was happily swinging his legs and eating the potatoes that were on his plate.

Jay glanced up at her older brother. He seemed a little uncomfortable with the "government" sitting at the same table as him.

"Tommy, didn't you die?" Tommy choked on the chicken he had in his mouth.

"Well, I did." He mustered out after he regained his composure.

"Why are you alive?"

"Dream brought me back." He glanced down. "I don't want to talk about it." Techno hummed.

It got quiet again after that.

After a while longer, everyone was now sitting on a nearby couch, laughing about something Tommy had said. Michael was sitting on the floor, playing with Technos crown.

Jay decided she needed some air. So she opened the back door and stepped out onto the back porch, leaning on the railing there.

It was cold, not quite as cold as Technos place, though.

She looked up at the night sky, bright with stars. It looked like it had the night she helped Tommy from Logstedshire.

She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair, tugging just a bit.

What she wouldn't give to go back then. To go back to living at Technos, and convince Tommy to be on his side instead. To stop Dream from ever blowing up L'Manburg. To stop him from getting the discs in the first place.

To kill him when they had the chance.

Tommy wouldn't have gone through what he did.

Tubbo and Ranboo would be safe to live with their kid without the worry that Dream would escape and hurt him.

Techno wouldn't have to live so far away.

Maybe they'd still have their father.

She could stop these stupid voices from screaming in her head.

She felt a few tears stream down her face as the voices screamed with conflicting emotions. A chorus of it's not your fault and you could have done more and you're just a kid and don't blame yourself and betrayer rang out in her head.

"God, just shut up." She whispered.

"I didn't say anything." She heard behind her. She jumped at the sudden noise, turning quickly to see Techno standing there.

"Jeez, Techno, a warning next time." She said, wiping her tears away.

"Sorry." He said, walking over to stand next to her.

"It's alright." She looked back up at the stars.

"Voices back?" He asked quietly.

"Yeah." She nodded.

"You alright?"

"Yeah."

Techno nodded then, and did something that surprised her.

He hugged her.

Again.

It was weird the first time, but another hug from her older brother? Without nagging him for it? That was new.

"I'm sorry for everything you've been through." He said softly.

"It's not your fault."

"Maybe, but still."

A few days had passed since their family dinner. It was a bad idea on paper, why they ever went through with it was baffling.

It was the most awkward dinner Jay had ever been to.

She shook her head as she walked towards Tommys tower. They were staking out to watch for the right time to break in and kill Dream.

The good news was no one had gone in recently.

The bad news was no one had gone in recently.

They couldn't find a way in. It was as impenetrable as Sam had described. No weak spot, no way for diversion, and absolutely no way in.

Jay sat with Tommy on the ledge, eating a sandwich she had brought for him. And it was good.

Why do all good things come to an end?

They heard explosions. Loud ones, louder than before. Falling debris sprayed everywhere, creating even more noise.

"Shit, Tommy, stay here." Jay said, grabbing her sword and shield. Tommy stood as well. "I mean it." The boy looked defiant for a moment, then nodded, and stood back.

Jay slid down the ladder and took off towards the prison. She ran around as much as she could, then dove into the water around the other side.

There was a clear hole in the side, opposite to where the tower was located. She swam as fast as she could muster towards it, pulling herself up onto the stone of the prison. She could see Sam appear from around a corner, eyes wide.

The hole led straight to Dreams cell.

And Dream was nowhere to be found.

Heyyyyyy.

I couldn't do it. I couldn't kill Henry. My boy deserved better. Henry is safe and will always be.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed!

Thank you all for 110k, holy crap! I really appreciate everything!
